Fender Inner Liner - Rivets popping out

I did a Google/Forum search and didn't see this, but apologies in advance if this a duplicate.

Today I noticed that some of the tickets holding the inner fender liner trim are coming out. No damage to anything, and they are the middle so probably the least likely to get caught on something.

Anyone else had this happen?

I have not, but you can buy a Plastic Rivet Kit online and easily replace those. I needed one for a different project.

This is the one I bought and it was garbage, get a better one.

Mine popped out on the passenger side. They were fine until the dealership installed an auxiliary battery. Replaced under warranty and fine now.

Look for some Dorman plastic rivets at your local auto parts store.

Those are just rivet stems, that is odd they would work their way out like that. Seems like that area may have accessed and the wrong grip length rivet may have been used.
Most rivets like those are designed to be used for specific material thickness so the stem will shear/break when pulled, flush with the head of the rivet.

Just grab some flush cuts and snip the stem flush. still odd if that is factory stems dont move like that.

So what's really odd is I'm just over 3 years and these fit perfect over the the last three years. And like zero impacts, tire rubbing, etc. so like how the heck did three do this?

Appreciate the suggestions on fix!
