could also be really cool if somebody made a hard top that covered the passenger area and the truck bed together:
The problem is the bed/cab flexing around differently than the SUV to truck conversions you posted. It would be taking a truck and turning it into an SUV which is harder to pull off than an SUV to a truck simply because the body panels are not attached as one unit. Not aware of anything that accomplishes the truck to SUV idea for vehicles with a separate cab and bed. I could be wrong though.

A Soft Top & Half Doors! Also a well engineered 2-3” lift and 37” tires on beadlocks, Genright aluminum front and rear bumpers, high clearance fenders, and rock sliders. A rack for the bed that doesn’t interfere with the soft top, A winch, auxiliary lights, a mushroom type cowl intake to add extra depth for water fording, air compressor, mesh bikini top, and a flux capacitor!

Starting with a stock JT Rubicon with standard soft top and no extra options...except perhaps the Diesel engine + automatic transmission...and assumes Rubi has sufficient side rocker/panel sliders standard from factory.

Must-dos:

- non-Rubicon OEM black plastic non-painted front fenders (don't like the Rubi's high flat fender JP look; needs to be a bit of the side apron (panel) showing between hood and top of fender IMHO); non-painted for ease of replacement

- bed liner (Rhino or Line-X)

- 2-3" suspension and/or body lift

- 35" tires

- rear bumper w/ quarter panel protection + spare tire + fuel carrier + high lift jack + fold down table + aux light; hopefully AEV recreates something similar to the Brute with integrated potable water storage

- doors: tube for starters...preferably half-doors with integrated removable canvas upper window sections

- upgraded headlights (not paying $800+ to Jeep for LEDs)

- canvas bed cover

And the wish list items:

- steel front bumper + integrated winch + driving lights; ideally AEV designs something similar to the JK offerings

- bed rack / rear cage + canvas top that has roll-up sides (think Can-Back or Softopper); strong enough to provide roll-over protection as well as support a rack + RTT or kayaks; has integrated ladder into the design

- removable 3rd row seat (we have 5 kids!); steel frame with integrated seat belts (actually already have it...will repurpose it from my FJ40...likely have to weld mounting points to chassis under bed

- roof top tent (large...TBD brand)

- tailgate storage (assumes tailgate has hollow compartment with no access for storage)

- underbelly aluminum skids

- extended range fuel tank (either opposite side from standard tank or in place of rear spare tire) with aluminum skid plate

Probably forgetting something... Lol.

I like the 3 row seating I would like to see a after market option for that

My Jeep would be the Rubicon with diesel and hard top that's probly as are as I would go from factory from there it will be all aftermarket

Small lift something still useable but gives a little room 2-3 inch my be a Boody lift too I know lots of people hate them but I like them for he long term it gives more chance between body and components for working on fixing and modifications

Larger tires probly just a a/t with a little bite on it

New front and rear bumpers and rock sliders with built in Nerf bars, winch, onbord air, power inverter, and jump points front and rear, Bikini top, tube doors, lots of storage options bags and nets lots of other little odd and ends I'm forgetting

Now on to more of the specialised stuff need to make a headache rack that will not interfere with the tops operation so I can put emergency lights up there

Siren, light controller, raidos, cb, and lots of miscellaneous tools

Do you think someone will make a camper shell for the Gladiator? Trying to envision how that would look but I wouldn't mind having an enclosed shell to keep everything more secure.

One vendor (AT Habitat?) already confirmed they will build either a replacement hardtop with built in tent and/or a camper with built in tent.

Softopper will almost certainly do a canvas cover.

And I'd expect several companies to offer fiberglass camper shells. Same goes for hard tonneau covers.

Its not a matter of "if" but rather "when" these items get to market.

Aftermarket companies are going to be scrambling (no pun intended) to bring parts to market and I would expect to see all the big players jumping in on the JT for bed specific goodies.

I'm currently living in FL for at least the next two years and will stick to my plan of waiting until I return to AZ to buy the Gladiator. I'm actually excited about that because by the time I get back and purchase a Gladiator I'm sure AEV should be finishing up their lifts. I have not owned an AEV lift, but I love the philosophy behind their lifts and am sure its going to be a great 1st mod.

Looks like the JT Gladiator wheel wells are about 48-50 inches apart? Not enough to fit the 4 wheel camper fleet without having it awkwardly high and set on top of the wheel wells.
Maine Line Overland has set up flatbed trays for 4 wheel campers. 4WC Fleet flatbed isn't much wider than the JT at 76" but fairly long at 79". A 76" wide x 72" tray with some overhang or 8" inches of fold-down extension on the bed (so you get a 72" tray but can extend it to 80" with for mounting the camper). And weight of 1,300 pounds or so gives you 350 pounds of fluids and gear before you hit the 1,650 payload.
May take some work but I'm sure we'll see a JT with a 4WC on it. Will be 85k plus all in but AEV sold plenty of Brutes for that and that was just the vehicle.
