I’m in love with Gladiator Mojave. Today I took a test drive, my first time driving one. It felt quick and nimble on the street, I imagine it’s the same off-road. The big surprise was the interior, it felt too cheap and low quality plasticy for a 60k vehicle. I’m 6foot and the foot well felt small and overall the seating felt a little cramped. Any thoughts on this ? Do owners get used to the smallish confines of the cabin?

I guess it's all about perspective and what you are used to. I find the interior well put together and nice. To me the JL/JT dash is just about perfect, great mix of analog and digital. I am a slim 6 3 and don't need to put the seat all the back. The smallerness of the interior and the closeness to the dash takes some getting used to, no other vehicle like it, but its one of the things that makes it a unique driving experience, It's not a F150, thankfully.

I'm 6'1 and I don't feel cramped at all, but it's obviously much smaller than any other full size truck or SUV on the market. I believe the smaller, upright windshield also makes it feel a bit more cramped as well.

I got used to it by the time I reached my house after buying.

Most owners above 6 feet purchase a Seat Slammer kit from 'Desert Does It' which involves putting a Sawzall to your seat bracket.

It works, but you're putting a Sawzall to a $60k truck which is kind of ridiculous

Yeah, You are spot on, but you should get used to it. At 5'11, I passed on buying Jeeps as I thought they were too small for me and a passenger in the front. I finally purchased a JL Rubicon in 2020 as a spare vehicle and it quickly became my daily driver.

I came from a Ram 2500 similar interior space to your Power Wagon you list in your bio. Coming into a Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator for the first time, it can seem like being put in a small box when you are use to lounging in the RAM leaning in your seat like Captain Kirk on the bridge seat of the Enterprise.

I am 6'3" and have found my comfort in these vehicles and gotten use to it over time. If you cannot get over losing the spaciousness of your RAM, the Gladiator might not be for you.

Nicer imo than my 18 f150 interior wide. Smaller, and prefer the ‘fit’ of it more too. F150 Too big. I’m 5 11.

It's easier to clean when the interior is dirty when the doors are off or top open.

Yes. The cabin feels cramped with the doors on. But take the doors off and open the top and you'll forgot that. The truck is skinny to fit in tighter trails.

I’m 6‘3” and find that while the cabin space is not as generous as my other vehicles, it’s not a problem either. I never feel uncomfortable in it. My last couple of “fun vehicles” were BMW’s and a Range Rover. I also currently own a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 Denali and my wife drives a BMW X7. I mention all of this only to say that I was/am surprisingly impressed with the interior quality of my JT. The fit of the front door skins could be a little better but otherwise, I have no complaints. Keep in mind what this vehicle is… The interior must maintain a ruggedness capable of withstanding more elements than most other vehicles.

I appreciate all the great, positive comments. This is a great forum.
the local dealership (Santa Rosa, CA) has an abundance of Gladiators on the lot. The sales rep said there was a 10% discount off MSRP I’d like a fully loaded Mojave for 15 k off the MSRP. Think that’s possible?

You should be able to negotiate that. The 10% off the dealer mentioned is coming from JEEP, not the dealer. He can do better than that.

I got over $12K off. Shop the dealers near you and see who has what you want and who is offering the most off.

Find the one you want. Test drive it, ask questions, share contact info, and drive away. There's a good chance they will call in a week or two and ask what it will take to get you to buy it.
