2021 Firecracker Red Jeep Gladiator Sport S, and this is the first Jeep I have owned. Immediately removed stock wheels/tires and added 35x10.50r17 Kenda Klevers wrapped around MOPAR spare wheels. Just found out I need to recalibrate the speedo (seems to be the terminology always replied with/did not know it would be needed to accommodate larger tires), and I am looking into lining the bed as it did not come standard. I was hoping y'all could point me in the direction of other minor upgrades I should start with. All of this is new to me, and I haven't been this excited for a vehicle in a long time.

Before you rush out and spend hundreds of dollars on a Tazer, read this thread:

https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/please-teach-me-about-jscan.33495/

There are some good comparisons of the Tazer, JScan and AlfaOBD.
You can recalibrate your speedometer to a given tire size with any of theses.

Kevin
I’ve started to look into JScan. Any downside to it? Does it have long term value? I was quoted anywhere from $75 - $150 for the Speedo, so cost is similar. I know I am missing something with the app.

Check it out...

You can make a lot of changes to the programming & settings. It's not as comprehensive as a Tazer, but you can get into the whole setup for well under $100.

This OBD-II adapter:

This needed bypass cable:

The JScan app is free, and you can run it without any hardware in an emulation mode to get a feel for how it works. But to use it you need a license, and the license is about $20.

If there's a downside, it's that it doesn't do quite all the stuff that a Tazer does. But with a Tazer, to get full functionality from it, you need to leave it connected all the time.

Gonna be a total buzz kill here. Don’t lift or mod too quickly. Drive it for a bit and learn how it drives and note it’s good and bad points. I’ve lifted/modded all of my Jeeps super early and almost always thought “huh, the Jeep is doing X or Y. Did it do that before?? Did I just screw something up??” You’ve got plenty of time to mod. Read the heck out of this site as it’s been probably the best site I’ve ever seen with the most useful info and BY FAR the least amount of jackasses than on other sites I’ve seen. Lots of people who are more than willing to share their successes but also willing to honestly share their mistakes.

I agree. I will say, adding Fox Shocks after 2-3 weeks driving changed the ride completely. Much better now. I was also hoping to take the JT on a road trip this June, but now I am wondering if I should. everything I have read (so far) mentions getting bigger brakes etc. Also hear a lot about 35s being "dangerous" at freeway speed. While I take it with a grain of salt (time/experience helps), it is something to think about.

Yeah, I think I went Tazer because it seemed the most "complete" for the $.

- Winch feature: Turn it on and it runs the engine at 2000RPMs to maximize the alt. output while winching.
- Lockers in 4H
- Swaybar disconnect in 4H
