I was getting out of my 22 JTR with just under 7k miles the other day in gym shorts. I heard a pop from the seat. Turn around and looked and noticed the leather seat cover ripped at the seam. I took it to the dealer for warranty because it obviously had too much pressure on the seam. The first thing out of the ladies mouth was OH YOU CUT IT. That wouldn’t be a pop from a cut. She called to tell me the manager sent it to Chrysler for approval after she had already told me it was covered and she ordered the parts days before.

My wife is 5”4 and her 2018 JLU Moab has a 4 inch lift with 37s. Never has the leather done anything close.

Long story short they still put the blame on me for it in the ticket. I mean guys come on it’s like Chrysler has never made a bad product before!

That is petty of them. Would have stuck in my craw if I was handed that.

FWIW, they can revise repair order tickets after the fact if needed. I was given one that had the wrong part numbers on it but I knew the correct part numbers were installed. I made them change it to reflect reality.

I wasn't happy because the lady still insisted on it being all my fault. The truck had 800 miles on it when I bought it back in October. I explained it always was mushy from the day I got it but didn't
think anything of it. She just talked circles saying I was at fault.

DEALER NIGHTMARE TIME:

I only paid $48.5k for it "new" off the lot. It was a little odd to me that lot had 3-4 JTRs very similar sitting for almost a year on the lot. All of them had anywhere from 200-1200 miles on them "new". Heck one even had the leather bench seat with a crazy stretch mark on it too! This same dealership "accidently" submitted my loan paperwork for the starting price of $55k and ran it against my credit report too. I only found that part out after reviewing my credit report and seeing an open credit line for $55k at a new bank. They luckily gave me sales agreement and I walked it back for them to adjust it. They were simply going to apply the $7k ish difference to the loan rather than rework the loan at the bank. NEVER LET THEM DO THAT! They can send a cancel request to the bank with the correct amount to finance. My payments went from $980 to $850 because I had them redo the entire thing. Sadly this had them run my credit 2 more times while they attempted to fix the problem! This took them over a month to get fixed. The bank started calling from the collections number saying I was behind on the payments. By the time collections called and I spoke to an attorney the account in collections had closed and was paid in full. The new one was opened and they then immediately called saying it was behind. My attorney said, pay the past due no matter what and if it showed up on my credit I could just challenge it and submit all the papers to discredit it. It didn't thankfully!

But funny enough the bank messed up and sent me the title after the first account was "paid in full" and had the title with agreeing documents attached. I called and offered it back to the bank but they had no clue what I was talking about. So my attorney advised I make a digital copy of all the papers and keep it in a safe place till I pay the loan off. Then when they can't find it or something pops up I can send them digital copies back saying you screwed up and I tried to make it right!

I don't ever want to use this dealer again. But the next closest one is over an hour away.

*end rant* lol
