Anyone done this ? Doable ? Would be nice to have two rigs when in remote areas but to get there would also be nice not having to travel separately

Flat towing will work but it really is a hassle. When you run sharply something has to get dragged as the tow point moves differently that the front tires. It was too aggravating for me plus if the little jeep breaks in certain ways you can't flat tow it back.

I've already cleared borrowing a vehicle trailer from work to tow my YJ. From hearing RV'ers talk about Toad issues, I pretty much took flat towing off my list.

Thousands of RVers flat tow jeeps. Our 2009 has been towed for 10+ years. The issue with flat towing is the items that need setup to flat tow. Supplemental braking and lights are the big ones on top of the tow bar mount and tow bar. That why many guys throw it on a trailer if using for off road stuff. We have done both depending on location I am going. Being able to flat tow is nice at times. We moved from the NE to the south and I just hooked the JK to the uhaul truck and left. If I had not been setup to tow with the RV it would have been different.
