The CJs were the last real Jeep. Those YuppieJeeps were the beginning of the end.

My 79 CJ5 had a TF727 automatic, backing the AMC360.

But, definitely not near as many Jeep wavers as there was years back.
When I bought my JT Sport in 2019, I tried to find one with a manual transmission & hand-crank windows to stay true to the legacy. However, it was still the first model year and a manual transmission was difficult to find.

One of the things that I appreciate most about the Jeep culture is the DIY mindset. Many of us can afford to pay someone to do the work, but we do much of it ourselves because we know that the job will be done right (most of the time).

I wave at Gladiators, Wranglers, and other real Jeeps. Hummers and Broncos (false-positives from afar) are cool, but they don't get a wave unless I know them.

As for the ducks, mine are outdoor ducks and ride in the bed. I've trained them to keep stuff from moving around.

I’ll continue then. I regularly see a bright yellow Renegade with like 30 on the dash. lol.
Over here, closer to the Smokies, I would wager that the majority of vehicles sporting a dash full of ducks are no longer Wranglers/Gladiators, or even a Jeep product. It seems to have infected all makes and models at this point. I am definitely not cool enough to understand (care?) why this is.

Regarding the wave.....when every third vehicle you see is a Wrangler/Gladiator (and half of those are rentals), it becomes a bit cumbersome to continue the trend. Funnily enough, when I drive the Roxor around town, everybody waves.

There are a whole lot of wranglers and gladiators where I live in an affluent Atlanta suburb. Most people get one for their teenage/college kids or have one as their toy/weekend cars. I’m the poor white trash who daily drives one. Lol. I get a lot of waves from wranglers and gladiators. A lot more now that they see my bumper lights and winch. I wave back. It’s too tiresome to wave when it’s like every 5th vehicle.

We should have a Wave emoji.

Someone else can suggest the other obvious emoji.

I posted before about the a-hole who threaten to shoot me for ducking his JT a few months backs. That hasn't stop me from ducking other Jeeps. I'm hoping to see that a-hole again at the Brownsville Pa. Walmart parking lot so that I can duck his JT. Just to see his reaction.
I think you're missing the point...
