Just got back from a 4 day trip to Anza Borrego and really went everywhere. Really flexed it good. Got home with no issues. I was cleaning when I noticed something is missing, my new Fox ATS steering stabalizer is gone. Nothing left but the broken axle end of it. Look like it got loose on the tie rod end and just snapped it off. $450 gone. Drove all the way home not knowing it was gone. I don't expect Fox to do anything. Just going to get a good regular one without the fancy adjustable through shaft with a reservoir . I didn't like the way it mounts anyway. Any suggestions of what to get to replace it without it giving me a pull to the left? I'll mount it high off the track bar bolt. I have the fusion 4x4 aluminum tie rod and drag link.
Can't believe I drove all those miles on the freeway with no issues so I probably didn't really need the ATS Fox. .

This is the fox stabilizer I use on both my JT’s. They work great and neither have ever given a feeling of pull to the left. The nitrogen gas spring isn’t strong enough to do that. I can jack the front end up and the wheels stay in position with no weight on them.

That's the type I will go with. The through shaft design is a mounting that I am not a fan of.

What made you decide on that one, how much research did you do on them?

I can't say I did a ton of research but I did read alot of reviews. I figured for the price point I would try it out on the first truck. It worked well so I added it to the other. As it turns out, some of the stabilizer relocation mounts are not compatible with the through shaft design. At least the Rock Jock mount I use is not. I've been running these well over a year and haven't had the first issue or regret.

The AEV/bilstein stabilizer is cost effective and stiff. I didn’t notice any pull. I have it on a Clayton relocation bracket.

Do you know if there is a difference between the AEV branded version over the standard 5100? They are close in price so I wonder if it is just a branding/paint difference.

dunno, I forget if I read long ago it was valved specifically for this application...
I do think people have said it seems to be on the stiffer end of the spectrum of ones available (which I was looking for).

Thanks, I added the 5100 version when I did my lift, more so that it matched the Bilstein shocks than out of needing it. It was pretty stiff and took some effort to get it mounted, not sure how it will hold up and thought it was worth asking about it in case I need a replacement sooner then expected.

I’ve had one for over a year now. Pulls quite a bit. I will replace with a through design eventually.

You have the 5100 or AEV version? Which direction does it pull? I have a very slight pull to the right, I just chalked it up to the alignment shop not quite getting it perfect.

I think you already answered your own question, no need for any steering stabilizer but if you really want one get a stock replacement from a chain auto parts store so it is easy to replace if/when it gets damaged or decides to grow legs.

I have many Synergy products on my JT now and will be going with the Synergy steering system and Fox stabalizer. It's all made to work together and mount with no issues. I'll be selling my Fusion4x4 stuff as it is still brand new for someone. I will not be doing a through shaft system again.

5100. Pulls to the right. It’s always trying to extend. It’s just a shock.
