Just installed this last night and had to adjust the reservoir location for clearance which involves loosening the (very tight) pinch bolt. Instructions recommend blue loctite on the threads.

My question is, how and is this really necessary? If I just loosen the pinch bolt the threads aren’t exposed. Do I need to pull the pinch bolt all the way out to add loctite?

Right now I’ve just got the bolt as tight as physically possible. Not sure how it will work itself loose.

I would add blue loctite. Mine came loose and was causing a lot of issues. When I discovered the pinch bolt was loose, I removed it and there was no loctite from the factory. I did check all bolts to make sure they were tight when I installed the stabilizer. But it still worked itself loose. When I reinstalled the bolt I added blue loctite and check it perodically.

Mine siezed up after about 2 years, so I actually went with anti-sieze once I got it loose again and just tighted it as tight as i could with a 1/4 inch ratchet and appropriate allen bolt. Been holding fine for me but ymmv

Did you just pull that bolt all the way out to add the lecture and reinstall?

Yes. Removed the botl to make sure it was not broken and added the loctite to the bolt an reinstalled. It has held ever since.
