Anyone else noticing rust on the frame and suspension? I've looked around on different threads and people mention the welds and such but what about non weld spots? My gladiator is currently at the dealership having the spots sanded and repainted. Claim is opened with Jeep and it's over 30 different spots between welds and actual frame.

I noticed frame rust on mine as soon as I got it home. I've added it my list of things to deal with first oil change.

I have not noticed but I have not looked. Guess I am checking tomorrow.

I was planning to under coat it before the winter

This is where the Mopar lift and 37s make even more of a difference. I can slide right under my jeep to check everything out. No rust, however, mine has never seen salt or winter roads. That may be the biggest difference. Hope they treat you right.

No rust. As soon as i got the JT home after delivery, I hit the frame with fluid film. Looks brand new.

And can you use it on the moving parts like drive shaft, steering stabilizer, etc.?

I use fluid film on my three vehicles. From my experience, you can pretty much apply it to any surface under the vehicle to include the drive shaft and other steering components. Fluid Film takes about a week to go from runny to start to solidify somewhat and the lanolin takes a semi-waxy film form. For drive shafts, it will fling 90% of the fluid film off if you immediately drive it after application.

FWIW, there is now has a slightly thicker product that they call "WoolWax" and is what I will be going to once my current gallon of Fluid Film is used up.

Yes. Just not hot parts like the exhaust.

And what about a rust converter for this beginning rusting process?

Has anyone used it before with good results?

I cant tell. Half of what looked like rust is just dirt you have to scrape off. Some rust spots on places I scraped or hit

what can I do to treat it?

that sport at the end isnt rust, it is dirt (see where I scratched it off). The one closer to the middle (smaller) is rust

I had mine fluid filmed before winter and just noticed today some bad spots.

Have folks had good luck with dealerships touching up Rust?

Nope dealership did a crap job on mine. Waiting a bit longer for it to wear back through to go through a buyback.

Surface rust on the frame is normal, including from the factory. People have been freaking out over this for years, JK and before, plus on other manufacturer forums.

Eastwood Rust Converter or POR15 Are two good choices. Both can solidify in the can within a month once open. POR15 makes a set of small cans so you use all or most of it when you open it. It does not require a top coat when under the Jeep and out of direct sunlight.

I love Eastwood Rust converter. I was restoring a 1962 International harvester Travelette crew cab truck and used Eastwood rust converter on the entire frame and it was night and day difference. Firm believer and recommend it. Here is some before and after and this was all rolled/brushed on:
