The harness along the firewall and on the engine have to change. Not really that hard. Currently I am not aware of any commercial tools capable of writing a vehicle VIN to the GPEC2. I do know the dealer can set up a blank ECM to your Jeep, but they type in the vin and it loads the factory software. If your truck came with the GEPC5, that is not going to work. I have searched more than a few avenues trying to help a guy. If you could find some one to program you vin on there , you can probably reset the security code, but it is an expensive gamble.

Thanks Dave!

I wish HPTuner would look into this kind of solution (writing a vehicle VIN to the GPEC2) in addition to their attempts to unlock the GPEC5...

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and would really appreciate it if you could help me with much-needed information.

My goal: install Prodigy Turbo Kit for my Jeep JT Gladiator 3.6L 2022.

The problem: ECM GPEC5 has no unlocking solution, and from my email exchanges with HPTuner, its not clear when or if an unlocked version will be available.

My question is: a workaround solution of replacing the ECM GPEC5 to GPEC2a and the engine wiring harness from an early Gladiator 2021 could solve that?

I've found more than a few used Gladiator's GPEC2a for sale, and some harnesses (not sure which is the correct part number, I'll dive deep into it if I know for sure this workaround is, well, workable)

Does anyone have any experience with downgrading the EMC/Harness hardware? is it doable? is there anything else I need to take into account that I'm missing at the moment?

Many thanks in advance for any thought/advice/tip that could help me install the kit on my beloved Gladiator!
Cheers to all!
Best,
Ram
Can't help much...just want to mention that early 2021 harnesses aren't your only target. My September 2021 truck is GPEC2.

so following Dave's reply, the main issue is how to write a VIN to the GPEC2a ECM. Current off-the-shelf tools do not have the option to do so; why don't we shop around for a professional hardware reverse engineering service provider and see if any of them are up to the task?

In another update following Dave's reply to my quest to replace the GPEC5 with GPEC2, Dave wrote
I have not found d a way outside of chrysler to overwrite a VIN
Meanwhile, in my HPTuners forum thread, a member from N2speed claimed
I can add a VIN to any Gpec2 PCM
, so would the following work:
  1. buy used GPEC2 ECM
  2. buy the needed wiring harness
  3. write the correct VIN to the GPEC2 ECM
  4. replace the original GPEC5 ECM with the used GPEC2 ECM
  5. replace the wiring harness
  6. continue with installing the Prodigy Turbo Kit...
Do you think it could work?

You're breaking new ground. Don't think very many people can give you an answer.

Holy crap...
A whole lotta fartin' around to add a turbo.
If you wanted a hotrod, why the heck did you buy a Gladiator in the first place?
A JL 392 would've been better.

unfortunately for me, we have very strict and limited options here when it comes to motoric freedom... not only the JL 392 isn't available I also need a pickup.

Nuts.
I just realized that, "Location: IL," doesn't mean Illinois in your case.
I'll go to sleep now.

What about a Ram TRX? That would give you 707HP.
