I was thinking about picking up a spare and sending it down to R/T tuning locally. They have done some pretty nice work on stock turbos for the VR30 Q50/60 platform among others. Erik would likely R&D just for the pure challenge/curiosity itch. My brother has SOHO local down in NC.

@Rusty PW - $18k of you need some redundancy!

I know Vince. He has done a few tunes for me. I've used both UpRev and ECUTec for tuning software.

SHTF yesterday in the tuning world. Everyone is in a panic. The EPA started to crack down on the tuners. No more flex fuel tuning will be offered. If you have turbo'ed your car, and need a retune. After first of the year, forget. Haltech and Motec will not be supling anything for street cars. Only race cars. I've got friends in mid build right now who are having mental melt downs.

Sounds like a chance for the open source community to blossom. Maybe breath new life into megasquirt type stuff.

It will be hard to crack down on the type of hardware that is sold as individual parts and need DIY assembly, not really different then the ghost gun concept.

The kill mode tune on ours is Vince’s, George at SOHO for daily. That’s bonkers man wow.

Jesh, I’m half tempted to grab a derringer while still possible. Hate the piggyback paradigm over bench/proper tune but if they can wipe the corn scene as quickly as that, seems to me they can exponentially crank up the heat on our platform.

Extra inter cooling isn't going to help. What you need is more oil cooler capacity and/or more radiator capacity.

THAT makes sense.

years ago I had a big aftermarket TMIC on my 2004 STi. Fed by that ridiculous hood scoop. Ha. I miss that car.

less piping with TMIC and a nice hood scoop would really do wonders.

Very interested to see this take off.
Also interested to see this progress into something concrete. I went with the 3.6 because I had intentions to supercharge it (long story short, new ECM shut that dream down), otherwise I would have gone diesel. Good luck OP in your venture, and if you succeed, I will be contacting you shortly after.
