To bad there isn't a way to install a grease fitting so the front bearings could be re-packed . Even to drill and tap it.

Alright.... So I'm taking all opinions into consideration.

I need to replace my front wheel bearings. This is the first time on the JL/JT platform. What's everyone opinions on a brand they like, prefer, or even think would be the best for this platform.

I know there's quite a few like Duralast (Autozone), Moog (Advance), OMIX, etc. What does everyone like? Just trying to get some ideas.

I buy OEM first. Otherwise, best bearings are Timken or Japanese manufactured. Japan makes very good bearings. Just a note but when I looked at your JT pic it looks like your wheels stick out quite a bit. With large tires that would be very hard on wheel bearings. Good luck to you.

Thanks to everyone's input, I ordered and already received a set of OEM unit bearings. I'll install the sometime over the next week. I appreciate everyone's opinions. I give a lot of advice on this forum on other subjects as well. But to be able to give advice and opinions and to be able to receive is just another reason why I love this forum.

Thanks everyone! Stay safe out there!

Some helpful hints if you haven't done this before.

Pop the center cap off the wheels and loosen the axle nut with full weight on tires.

If the hubs don't want to move, use a gear puller to get them moving.

Don't know, haven't had to replace any in my JT. Just a general rule I have that on most things I buy OEM but vary that on some things. Bought new LT1 crate engine that I am eventually going to put in my JT. Had a JK with LS3 and it was perfect fit and still going strong at over 120K miles. As with the LS3, I am buying all new OEM drive accessories for it. never had a problem doing so. When you start buying after market replacement parts doesn't always work out well down the road.

I know they are good quality mine have held up for 101221 miles.
Oh yes. I'm at 181,000 right now. I wouldn't even say mine are shot. But if you knew me and have seen how much I beat my jeep, replacing parts is like regular maintenance for me. Lol
