Alright.... So I'm taking all opinions into consideration.

I need to replace my front wheel bearings. This is the first time on the JL/JT platform. What's everyone opinions on a brand they like, prefer, or even think would be the best for this platform.

I know there's quite a few like Duralast (Autozone), Moog (Advance), OMIX, etc. What does everyone like? Just trying to get some ideas.

Timken, or don't bother.

FYI front uses wheel hubs, or sometimes called unit bearings.

Rear uses bearings
My bad. I'm old school. Lol. I actually changed a a few sets on a couple vehicles. But they had already bought them. First time on the JL/JT platform. I'll keep Timken in mind. Doing research now.

Thank you very much!!!!!🤙

In this particular case, I'd say stock parts, which are Dana/Spicer.

The main reason is the speed sensors can be finicky.
Hmm.... That's a thought. I didn't even think of how the speed sensors would react in something other than stock.

Thanks!

How many miles on it? I had a JK with 193,000 miles and the weal bearings were fine. My 2018 JL is approaching 100k and they are still solid.

Just curious.

I have 181,000 miles. But that's 181,000 hard miles. Towing weekly, offroading and rock crawling a couple times per month.

Whoah! Can you make a post about what you’ve replaced and when during that 181,000?

I.e. “stock alternator made it to 75k. Ball joints every 30-40k….” etc.?

I think you may be the highest mile JT I’ve seen on here and that info would be super helpful for folks.

If you haven't replaced the ball joints yet, add them to the list.. at that mileage, they are almost surely wasted..

Sure! That sounds too much like work! 😂😂😂

As a matter of fact, I'll get started on that now. And I'll put why I had to change things because some issues are self inflicted and could have been prevented.

I did some poking and the timken hubs don't seem to be easily sourced, probably still to new to make it to resellers. Might as well just go OEM then.

Spicer/OEM is usually the way to go on these. The OEM bearings have served you well.

Otherwise, SFK would be at the top of my list. With anything aftermarket, be careful of where you buy them to avoid counterfeits. SKF will actually authenticate your bearings if you send them pictures.

That makes sense. I did a lot of rock crawling with that JK, but not anything approaching the frequency yours has seen. Not even close.

Just did mine at 50k and they were very flaccid. Like floppy. Same with the rod ends of the drag link and tie rod.

Mine were the same after 27k on 37s. They are a weak point for sure.
