Hahahahahaha, where I always have, in the trash can...
Joking of course. The mounts look pretty nice. It’s so far the best option I’ve seen for those without bed racks. I’m just grateful that you and others have warned me about leaky Rotopax tanks. I was ready to jump in, but now may look into traditional wavians instead. Thanks.

Once you get the right nozzles on them they are great, but it is an extra $44 per gas can to make them work properly. If I were not already invested there would be no way I would ever use rotopax!!!

As I mentioned in every post their customer service sux!!!

Thanks. That’s why I love this forum. I would have gone head first for that system if it weren’t for the warnings. A 2 and 1/2 wavian is likely in my future.

So I ordered one of the Wavian cans. Came with the spout. Can't seem to get the spout to stay latched. IS that an issue ? Or am I an idiot. Tried for like 3 hours. Not a fan of the actual spout so if there is a better one out there advise.

It's possible the spout you have is defective but the supplied spout has worked for me in the past. You want to be sure the spout is all the way seated against the can lip seal. It can be a little fiddly at first, they fit tight. Then fully depress the latch down clamping the spout. The supplied spout is not to my liking with the silly plastic air mechanism. You can find the normal flexible all-metal spout online.

Thanks. Mine fits the can but the latch down clamp wont stay down. As soon as i let go it "unseats". I pushed it down as hard as I can. Seems like it doesn't want to go to the end. I'll play again tomorrow with it and take a few picks. I agree the plastic spout sucks so I may just look for one of the flex spouts you showed above.

OK. Looked at the can again today. If I try to attached the spout it will go on but as soon as I let go it moves back and wont stay on.

Jut doesn't seem to stay in place ? Am I missing a clip or something to hold it down ? The cap latches fine but it also has the bar to go thru and lock.

Look at the seal in the spout and make sure it's in the proper position. My seal has come out of the groove taking it off. Can you muscle the lock lever down farther? And no you aren't missing a clip or anything.
I used the supplied spout and an all metal one, no problems. You may have a out of shape spout or can mouth. Pics attached.

Ordered on Amazon. Went thru a ton of them until I found one that said it was a real one. Its stamped properly. I assumed it was a correct one.

I'll try again in the morning. I did look at the seal and it appeared to be in the spout where it should be.

OK have a question I can't seem to find alot about. I see tons of JK/JL/JT's with gas cans on racks and other places. See mostly plastic cans. My question is more on actual use and not for the guys who drive around with no gas in them. Next summer I plan to spend about 2 weeks in MOAB and Grand Canyon. I am taking our tiny camper and my Honda EU2000 for the AC when needed. My issue is gas. I have a tonneau cover on the JT and plan to store some stuff below it. I am bringing 1 metal gallon can of sealed non E gas for emergencies but would like to have 5 gallons of gas in the JT for use in the generator. I thought about metal cans but no vent and not sure in the 100' sun that would be a good idea. Plastic will work but same issues I would think. So does anyone actually haul gas in their cans and more importantly in that kinda of environment ?
I have the Rugged Ridge trip-fold tonneau cover. MY Jerri cans fit, to my utter surprise. The cover sits on top of the bed side. So I guess that's just enough clearance.

I hauled gas in cans (plastic) around the moab area, yes it was 100+ degrees, mine were on the outside and I vented them several times per day. You also have to vent them at night after it cools off a bit.
