Well, advertising has been around since the dawn of time and people have always hated it.

Unfortunately, if we hold down a job we are more than likely dependent on advertising for our own well-being. In some way or form the industry we work for is doing annoying advertising and by working for that company we are personally contributing to that. And if a company isn't advertising they are a dumb a** and not worth working for.

So your employer gathers the work crew together and says, "Hey everyone, we have been hearing that people are complaining about our advertising interrupting them when they are trying to watch Yellowstone on their $160 a month cable subscription they pay for so we are going to eliminate it so as not to annoy them anymore. So all of those of you on the right side of the room gather your stuff. Due to the decreased business, we have to lay you off."

Advertising puts food on all our tables and 37's on our Jeeps. I'm fine with it. Just tap the screen and get on with the day.

Very true and you are absolutely right marketing makes the world go round but no one buys a car to get adds. Somewhere along the way an email address and/or mobile phone is attached to that purchase, annoy them there. Pop ups in car moving or not is a distraction.

I used the website that was posted the other day to opt out of all manufacturer tracking. Seems to have worked and I lost no functionality such as nav maps, etc.

wow, it was only a matter of time before sleezy manufacturers started to use the big navi screens as marketing billboards. I wonder if they’ll start selling the ā€œad space.ā€
Stellantis said a few years ago they are subscription focused and my bet is they’ll somehow end up wanting you to pay a fee to get rid of ads just like streaming services do now down the road. Stellantis truly is ruining a lot of their brands, especially Jeep. The WK2 series Grand Cherokees looked great and they ruined it bringing their ā€œeuroā€ look to the WL series…build quality isn’t as great IMO too.

Apples to oranges. You are comparing a vehicle made for transportation to Media entertainment? Do you work for Vox?

That WL is an absolute pile, my wife had one. So many problems we dumped it in 8 months. It was so bad until her Highlander she reserved arrived I made her park it and she drove my 5.9 Limited around. I’m a Grand Cherokee geek through and through but these new ones are just junk

Totally agree. My wife had a ā€˜21 Trailhawk that was great but traded in for a ā€˜23 Limited that unfortunately I told her just get what you want…from the second she brought it home I thought fit and finish was garbage. It was her daily driver and I wasn’t there when she checked it out. Had it 6 months and dumped for a ā€˜23 Rubicon 4xe and haven’t looked back. I’ve had a couple GC’s over the years and the WK2’s were the best by far.

What year is yours. Mine is a 21 and NEVER had any type of ad whatsoever ..ever.
Mine’s also a ā€˜21. It may have something to do with using their connected services. I’ve used the SiriusXM services and the Mopar site to schedule maintenance, etc. Maybe that ā€œopted me inā€. I also don’t have an extended warranty and my BTB expired. Perhaps if you get an extended warranty it shows up and they won’t harass you. I have mechanical breakdown via Geico, so I didn’t opt for the extended warranty. It can also be credit, income, demographics, location based, etc. I’m sure they take all sorts of things into consideration, including state laws into account when they decide to show these ads in your face or not. Every company creates customer profiles now. It’s a brave new world.

The WJ with the 4.7 was my favorite not including the 2015 SRT I had which was probably the best vehicle I have bought for the few months i had it. The 2018 WK2 Limited with the Pentastar wasn't bad until I started having issues with everything connected to the headunit and because of covid they couldn't get me new one for months.
