I waited for close to 7 years after the 2 door pickup JK prototypes. Only when it was very clear they weren't gonna make them did I buy my JL.
I get it. Waiting is hard when it’s 7 years.

I just got back from Yellowstone and spied this across the parking lot. Even thought it’s not a Glad, it seems somewhat relevant to the conversation.

Not sure how long the bed is but that looks pretty good. Maybe could be a little longer if I was picky.

Tease, tease, tease! I really like the look. I have had many regular cab short box trucks. But in this case, I wouldn't want to give up the ride quality of my longer wheelbase. As a tall guy, I also wouldn't want to give up the cab space. Towing is important too.

If they would just build this, I would ‘need’ both a pickup And a Wrangler, but I have to suffer w/ the crewcab JT

I keep coming back to this one. My wife has a four door nice car that works for when we take the kids somewhere, and if the rear seat area of the JT was cut in half and most of that length was added to the bed, it would really suit my needs and taste. Although I might keep the spare underneath the bed. And not put all the length into the bed so it might actually shorten the overall length a little to contribute to departure. Definitely a niche market (maybe just me, lol) but I would be all over it immediately.

Like to know where this vehicle was sold. Still left hand drive.
It was built by Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan who has lots of weird stuff built for his collection. Instagram - HERE

Two door versions of other trucks, like F-150s and Silverados, are pretty abysmal in sales. Even extended cab variants are garbage outside fleet vehicle sales. The reason is simple: most who have ever owned a 2-door truck will never go back after owning a 4-door. Heck, even the Wrangler is almost 90% 4-doors these days.

Looks cool, but after a while I think almost everyone would want to go back to the 4-door.
Exactly this. I owned a 2 door Colorado for 14 years (still own) before I bought my Gladiator. I made it work, but it sucks. No room to put anything. Anytime you have to haul anything inside of it you can forget carrying a passenger. Having a backseat is just so much nicer, IMO.

I like the concept, but I would personally never buy it.

2 door in 70s and early 80s was successful why people didn't have as many options and trucks and cars actually had room in side them then. (full size) Oddly enough Dodge and Ford?? made 4 door "crew cab" trucks but didn't sell well if I'm not mistaken except for special purpose like R/R companies.
My good friends parents had a 70's era Ford crew cab long bed 4wd pickup growing up. My buddy and his brother and sister were extremely embarrassed if seen in town in that beast of a vehicle. They absolutely hated it. In contrast, my parents drove a Ford Bronco. My sister and I were seen as the kids with the cool parents. Thanks to CAFE regulations that did in short wheelbase pickup trucks and suv's, now all we have to choose from are oversized sedan replacements with tiny beds.
