After months of waiting to get the necessary repairs started, Stellantis eventually denied the claim stating that the vehicle was built in Canada and there was nothing that they could do.

"Built in Canada"? Did they mean it was a built for Canada market and was a reimport back into the USA? If so, they are technically right that Canada market vehicle brought back in do loose their warranty status.

These days it seems that Stellantis is stubborn to honor factory corrosion warranty claims.

My boss has a 2020 JL Rubi that has extensive underbody rust (according to him) from being driven in our northern rust belt. It has 55k miles and is well within the parameters of the corrosion guidelines. His issue was confirmed by the dealer and a field rep that inspects any given claims of this type in our zone of dealers.

Since they laid off all those engineers a couple weeks ago you wonder what management is thinking or have they left a sinking ship what's a company without standing behind their obligation, really a tough way to treat an American Legend

It's a molecular battle between aluminum door panel and steel hinges. The steel and aluminum should not be in contact with each other. The same thing happens if you use the wrong valve cap on your TPMS stem.

Corrosion develops when two dissimilar materials are combined in a corrosive electrolyte. This can occur when certain materials (such as aluminum) are in contact with stainless steel. The most common solution to prevent galvanic corrosion is to select metals that are close together in the galvanic series

We've been around this block before - several times. the hinges are not steel.

There's no stainless.
Most of this is not galvanic.

Interesting--on my 2024 both hinge and door are non-magnetic. Think the pin might be the culprit? (No rust yet, just following thread)

Nope - can't be. Galvanic action takes place where the two metals meet - not inches away.

when people see a VIN report from a body shop they worry. It's a stupid tool used like KBB or carfax to widdle prices. Only benefits a buy not a seller.

People get their undies all worked up over that stuff - this sort of thing often isn't even reported at all.
There is no rule or law that says anything must be reported, and many shops don't mess with it.
Repairs like this are not accident or collision and frankly, if I was buying used and found issues had already been taken care of, I'd be happier over it.
warranty repairs aren't the sort of thing carcrap even cares about.

I don’t think getting hinges and paint fixed properly is going to reduce resale all that much. Having it fixed may make it more desirable to some buyers.

Should have ZERO impact. It's not collision related for one thing, and for another, so much doesn't even get reported.
Unreal how much of a deal is made over repairs that A. May never even be reported because there's no law or rule and not all shops participate, and B. - it's not collision related at all.
There's a lot of sleep lost over this resale bit - and it's not necessary.

That could very well be the case. My boss didn't elaborate or possibly didn't understand what he was hearing.
