Nnnooo!!! Corrosion!

My wife is a long time Jeep owner, JK, now a 2019 JL, but see usually swaps them out just before 100,000 miles, but at 85,000 she is in love with the colr Earl which is on the 26 build now. And walking by looking her Jeep over she is getting corrosion on three door bottoms, and one hinge...Damn it! Talked to our dealer yesterday and she is out of paint warranty, as is my 2021 Mojave which hsa nothing yet. Gets worse building a Sahara again,i n Earl, no longer can get LSD rear, no longer can get the all wheel drive transfer case, she is a little torn up about what to do ,she loves the auto Awd,and wants the rear limited slip, for our long stone uphill driveway, her Jeep has always been awesome in the snow. Fixing it on us will be a bit costly.
Dealer guy was ok, his wife's Wrangler has the corrosion and he is out of warranty a bit also, they do have the work done at a nearby shop and it is not just Gladys and Wranglers it's across the board a bit and ,they get a far share of Rams also......Jack

Sorry to rehash this thread, but I found it via Google search. I am looking at a NOS 2025, built in February of that year. The Monroney sticker states that the hood is, "Dual Vented", and there is no charge for it. It does not say whether or not it's aluminum or steel. It does NOT say, "Steel Power Dome Hood", with the $650 up-charge, like all the new 2026's do. Is the corrosion issue still a factor at this point, and something I need to look for, or bring up, if I decide to start negotiations on this Jeep? Thank you very much!

Mine took a little over 2.5 years from build date to bubbling paint.

Mine took about 4 years. We had a hurricane to deal with, so it took me 6 months to get it evaluated at a dealership. It took another 6 months to get a reaction from Stellantis. I had a hood, tailgate and one door. I expect 3 more doors to show corrosion in the near future. Stellantis has to do better. 2002 Crown Vic- zero corrosion. 2003 Jetta - zero corrosion. 2014 Silverado - zero corrosion . 2020 Jeep is my first with panels made from two different metal materials. I can't imagine living in a hostile environment like Chicago or the northeast USA.

'22 JTR hit 4 years from build last spring. Clean so far, but I’m watching it. Feels more like ‘when’ than ‘if’ at this point.

Just got mine back today. Only took 4 days to replace the hood and tailgate, including spraying the tailgate bedliner. The body shop did a great job!
I can confirm that the replacement hood is steel. Sucker is heavy.

I never checked mine to see if it's steel. I'd be a little annoyed, to be honest; the JT is already a bit portly and I'd rather not add more weight.

My issue with the body shop is my Rubicon hood vents are now loose and rattle around at highway speed. I also have bubbles in the Rubicon decal. This will be the second time I've taken it back, they also managed to break the wiring to one of my power mirrors.

Yeah, after a closer inspection my Jeep letters look a little crooked and I had to reset the tailgate cap lower on the tailgate. The paint is awesome though.

These panels are corroding from the inside out at the rolled seams. No amount of exterior painting will solved. The aluminum sheet stock has an anti corrosion coating on them but Jeep didn't bother with recoat or dips them after press stamped the pieces.

I'm not seeing an of the Lexus with corrosion aluminum panels. I'm talking back to 2002 Lexus with aluminum hood, trunk etc.

We've been prepping a 2004 ES330 for a family member for the last several months, not a spec of rust on that vehicle. It's absurd that 5/6 of my body has been replaced after only 5 years. Stellantis is going to end up like Nissan and Mitsubishi: clawing for a piece of the airport rental market.
