Mounted the pull handles on the pop top and put on the rebuilt Lexan hatchback (cracked the first one made of acrylic). I'm leaving on the protective plastic film until I'm done. I learned my lesson last time after adding a couple scratches.

If I keep working in my garage, I'll have to figure out how to air condition it. Man it's hot and humid today.

You sir, are a patient man. I would have already explored, camped and off roaded that camper half baked months ago. It feels like I’m always in a rolling project. It’s going to be awesome! Looking good.

EDIT- the camper half baked, not me…

I might have to buy one for the other side. If I don’t put food cans in them, the Velcro back will probably hold them in place just fine. They also have straps just in case or I can screw their back boards to the wall.

It fits great! I was a bit worried since it hasn't been on the truck since before I did all the fiberglass work.

:)

Looks amazing Mike, I was worried it would look too big but looks like it belongs there. You have set the bar pretty high and we are all a bit vertically challenged….Jack👏

Thanks everyone. After 15 months of thinking about this day, it's hard to believe it's here.

I'm going for a drive!

First test drive to the grocery store accomplished. 50 mph and only a bit of wind noise from the back hatchback/tailgate. I haven’t weatherstripped between them yet.

Some people get bored after the build and move on, but I hope you really get to spend time and enjoy that masterpiece! I can’t wait to see the inside come to life and see pics of you using it to its full potential.

How drastically did the acoustics change? Stereo still sufficient?
It’s pretty quiet and not much different than my original hardtop. I weatherstripped it pretty good. Just a tiny bit of wind noise from the tailgate. No difference in the stereo sound.

Looks like I'll need to find a tailgate weather seal. There's a pretty big gap between the tailgate and bed. Has anyone tried this tailgate seal?
