Alright, I called a A.R.E. dealer and asked for a quote for the CX Revo. They now confirmed that is is NOT available but the CX Evolve (pictured) is. I got a price of $2240 installed plus tax. Adding the windoors at $150 to $180 per side depending if you want sliders in them or not. It comes color matched and carpeted. Might be a nice starting point for the build. It would be risky to cut up a new hardtop and cap, and would need to strengthen them up first, before cutting for the top expansion and passthrough. I'd rather buy a used hardtop to cut up for my Glad, than cut up my existing one. It would be great if this build was reversible, if I wanted to swap trucks with a Hemi or Diesel Gladiator. Still hoping to find a barn door option that looks OEM.

some day.
There is a guy on this forum that made a gladiator bus and did just what you wanted and to increase rigidity he welded on a JL sport bar and roll bar frame to the bed area of the Gladiator.

Enclosed Gladiator

Also I think at that point it would be cheaper just buying a crate gladiator 392 and swapping yours than retrofitting major cutting mods like what you want.

It appears the door frame is all one piece as part of the cap, so probably a little wiggle room in the weather-sealing in the tailgate area?

Exactly, and it appears to be the same type of construction as the rest of the cap and not fiberglass like ARE and others do. Tradesman is the only other I've seen do metal but I think RSI appears to have a more reinforced design with more surface area to make a seal.

Wow, I never considered an aluminum AND fiberglass cap. This is the Yeti Build on Youtube. He used the fiberglass back window & frame and fiberglass freedom panels, then attached aluminum sides and top (?) to do a 10" stretch

. Not quite as OEM looking, but a lot easier than laying up a new fiberglass shell and cab. Pretty innovative solution. Also pretty cool idea to use quick release hood latches to hold down the shell.

What do you mean, not OEM? That is the 2022 Gladiator Purge edition :surprised:

Here's a couple more stretched Jk & JL Jeeps, just for fun.

spend money I dont have on my jeep
Looks like most medium size fridge's up to 30" length will fit on top of the 40% rear seat, but watch the height. I like the ICECO VL45 or 60 because the tope opens from either side. I can open it from inside the cab or outside. Pretty nice. Any opinions?

Also I'm leaning towards a 1500 Jackery with solar. My power has actually been out since yesterday, and the ICECO/Jackery/Solar combo would be pretty handy right now.

Wouldn't it be nice to have drop ins like this for the Gladiator or other pickups. Removable in 10 minutes, so we can have our truck bed back for hauling stuff. These are made for small minivans.

Looks like there are lots of furniture options in Europe and Australia for Toyota Troopys and Range Rovers. You would think with all the pickups in the U.S. there would be more companies like Goose Gear. Who else is making furniture for pickup beds in the U.S.?

I built the Gladiator Expedition over the weekend. I'm offering all aluminum conversions at $20K. Just kidding, I love photoshop.

The body shop couldn't match the Crystal Granite so we just painted the camper dark grey.

I wish I did this to my old Landcruiser. I would think a lot of people would want a pass through tent to a Gladiator (cab and bed passthrough).

Here's a great option. Convert an Icarus Alucab RTT to fit the Gladiator. Here's a great video. The glass (or plexiglass) looks great..

Back and forth. I can't decide which way to go, fiberglass or aluminum. Aluminum is easier for me to build and prep for paint, but you can form some nice rounded corners and use a jeep rear window, rear frame, and recessed side windows with stretching a JLU fiberglass cap. What do you guys think is better aluminum or fiberglass? Tough and rough looking aluminum, or weak and sleek fiberglass?
At first I didn't like the blockiness of the concept below, but I think it would look pretty good with a front roof rack. Keeping the freedom tops, is pretty cool but creates some design challenges.
