Gladiator "Highspeed" test

Today I did a 320 miles roundtrip with the Gladiator to pick up 5 new complete Wrangler Rubicon wheels which I purchased for quite small money.
Since I have somehow limited space to store the stuff I brought the wheels to a friend living 90m miles from my home.
After storing the wheels in his garage, having some coffee and talking I was a little bit in a hurry to get home.

Usually I drive the Gladiator between 63 and 75 mph but this time I set the ACC to 100 mph and let it run.

Wind noise was a little on the higher side but the oil temperature did not exceed 250°F and mpg was still arround 21.

Another time, I am impressed of the capabilities of my beauty.

Had to look where your at, wow 160 kph. I would be surprised if US based models will go that high

Some trims stop at 96 (Rubicon at least) while others go 115 max before the governor kicks in. I was curious after I bought mine so on the way home once there was no traffic gave it the beans. Got to over a 100 and called it good.

US Models definitely hit 100. Fun thing is listening to the Prem. Soft Top hum once yo get up t o and past 85.

There are probably different governed top speeds based on the tires.

The Wildpeak ATs that come on Rubicons and Mojaves are Q speed rated, so only good up to 99 MPH.

Good Point. Was it the stock Sports or the 33 Falkens or the 35 BFGs?? Love em all! Good Point!! Darn happy 8 speed.

Governor limited to 95 according to my build sheet. My Mustang Cobra would do 155 per Ford. I decided to try it out on a run between Vegas and Mesquite. It’s a straight road but has some gentle rises when crossing the dry washes. The car had a functional rear spoiler that would apply down force. It even had aero spoilers on the windshield wipers. Got up to 135 and quit. Felt like I was going to be airborne. The JTM stays below 80. I’ve had my fun.

These things definitely weren't made for speed, I don't even watch for cops any more.
