I'll just add that you can save yourself a lot of money if you're honest about how you intend to use the thing and don't care if there are stickers on the hood. The Mojave is designed for higher-speed off-roading - as in desert running (which is why its badge says "Desert Rated" instead of "Trail Rated"). The Rubicon is designed for slower, more technical off-roading/rock crawling. If you're only planning to do light-to-moderate trails, a Sport is plenty capable bone stock and can be easily upgraded if your needs change and you decide to start doing the tougher trails. There are videos on YouTube of people taking bone stock Sports on far tougher trails than I'll ever see.

I went with a Sport S (for anbout $10k less than what Rubis were selling for at the time) and bought a set of Rubicon take-off wheels/tires off of FB Marketplace for like $500 - and then did a 1.5" leveling lift on the front myself for $99. The Sport S comes with most of the nicer interior bits - and all the rest can be optioned if you wish. It can handle anything I plan to do with it for many thousands less than a Rubi would have cost. If I had it to do all over again, I'd go with the Sport S with the Max Tow option to get the 4.10 gears. My 3.73's handle the 33" Rubicon tires "ok", but 4.10's (standard on the Rubi) would be better - and I'd have the option of going up to 35's without regearing if I wanted to... but I can't see ever needing to do that. For my needs, the 33's are perfect. These things are like Legos... all the parts are interchangeable. I've seen complete Rubicon take-off suspensions online for just a few hundred bucks (from people who replaced their stock suspensions with lifts) that I could easily bolt onto my Sport S, but so far I haven't needed that - and the softer Sport springs/shocks ride smoother.

If you truly NEED the upgrades that Mojave/Rubicon offer (or just want the bragging rights that those hood stickers provide at the mall), great... go that route... they're great packages! ...but I bet the VAST majority of people who own them would have been just fine with a Sport/Sport S and kept that extra 5-10 grand in the bank.

Alright I'm not gonna argue about this one but I've owned both and a JLU drives and rides better than a Gladiator 100%. If you have never heard anyone say it then now you have. But you can definitely believe what you want, I guess it's just a matter of opinion. Heck my 2010 JKU rode better than the my Gladiator does, if it wasn't grossly underpowered I'd still own it. I do love my Gladiator though but I'm not delusional.
I'm not gonna argue about it either... because I know the truth. I've ridden in both (multiple 2-door and 4-door Wranglers - stock and modified)... and the Gladiator rides better when comparing like trim levels. Maybe you were comparing a Wrangler Sport to a Gladiator Rubicon with stiffer springs/shocks or a modified one? The only thing a Wrangler does better than a Gladiator is turn tighter and have better breakover & departure angles due to the Gladiator's longer wheelbase (which contributes to its better ride quality - along with the modified Ram rear suspension) and it's longer rear overhang due to the bed.

Wrangler sport to a Gladiator Sport, but it's a matter of opinion not truth. We both could be right in our on minds. What rides good to you night ride like crap to me so you can't say it either way. Opinions are like assholes everyone has one.

Dude... the Gladiator has a longer wheelbase and a superior rear suspension. Those two facts alone make It ride better. Period. That's a fact that has been stated in every Gladiator review ever done and one that I've experienced repeatedly first hand. I bet if you posted a survey on here asking the which one rides better, you would probably be the only one (or damn close to it) who would would choose the Wrangler. But whatever. Nobody buys either one expecting it to ride like a Lexus. They're both great no-compromise purpose-built vehicles.

Ok you win, wouldn't want you to lose any sleep brother, dang! Like I said matter of opinion on a Gladiator forum would more than likely swing in favor of the Gladiator I would be willing to bet. Posted on the Wrangler forum I'd be willing to bet it would swing the way of the Wrangler.

I have a Wrangler and Gladiator. I've enjoyed the Wrangler for many years but missed the bed of a truck, so the Gladiator was my next purchase this past summer. I didn't have the automatic top Wrangler, but on the Gladiator I have the sunrider soft top that is very nice on many days. Like the previous post, my freedom panels are in the bag hung in my garage, but not that difficult to to re-install during the winter. So far I haven't missed driving the Wrangler, but my 17yo loves it. I've missed a truck for more than a few years with those large SUV's, so I'm going to enjoy the Gladiator for the near future.

I'd think the Gladiator rear suspension is a little firmer than the JL for hauling and towing.

I'm not sure which rides better, I don't have enough seat time in a 4 door JL.

To anybody thinking of buying this in Tennessee:

I'll come over to your place twice a day every day for the next 5 summers to open and close your soft top and hand you a beer every time I stop by for $5300. You'll save $195+ tax, get to keep your better looking OEM top, and I guarantee it'll never break.

Holy COW that's expensive!

Man, if the price was cheaper I'd be all over that. One that folds down to the bed is the way it should of been designed. As it stands with the OEM soft top, I want to throw up every time I see one open on one. I got a soft top in the garage that came with mine but I ain't got the heart to do that to my Gladiator.

We have a 2019 JL and 2021 Gladiator both Sports , Jl has hard top with sunrider, JT has soft top. For trails and zipping around town the JL is a better choice for us, for trips and kayak hauling the JT wins. Both have been leveled or lifted 2" with 33" tires. Also take the JT out 90% of the time just because it is so easy just to lower the top and take out rear window. so really depends on use, if I wasn't hauling kayaks I would probably have 2 door wrangler with soft-top,

I know this is a Gladiator forum...

But I need a new vehicle and am looking at used Mojave's and used Wranglers.

I had a 19 Sahara a couple years ago but sold it and not sure if the Gladiator would be better in the long run and was wondering if anyone has had experience with both. I won't do any off-roading, just daily driving with the kids, errands, etc.

The main reason I like the Wrangler is for the Sky One Touch. Removing my old hard top was such a pain, I hated it and the gladiator doesn't have that option. Kids would love having that open air feeling

However, having the Mojave comforts, shocks, and bed would be better on a day to day basis (at least I think)

Any opinions would be great

Thanks!
I have a Jlur and 2 Jt's on the daily the Jt's work for me. I did put a soft top on my Jtr because my grandson like riding with Papa with the top down like in my Jk or my Cuda convertible there easy to take down and actually are pretty aur tight when up. If you buy a hardtop you can usually find a soft top and hardware for 600 to 800 dollars online

I bet the Wrangler full retractable top costs more than this as an add on to the build sheet.
