Something like this honestly.

I've always had a soft spot for the (real) Defender.

Sorry, I couldn't help it...I had to A.I. it as a Jeep with the Anvil 715 front end...yes, I need to step away from the keyboard.

I just bought my "Dream Gladiator". '26 Mojave X and I immediately upgraded to the 35"x11.5" Wildpeak A/T W4 tires the factory should have supplied as an option. Added a few mostly cosmetic things in the cabin to make her more comfortable and gear like Bulletpoint stuff to attach iPads and iPhone. Two working upgrades left and they just got here from Amazon so they'll be done by the weekend.

Hooke Gladiator Running boards which I had on my last Gladiator for 3 years and they performed FALWLESSLY. Brush and rocks be dammed, they were never an issue against the metal or finish of the boards. And I even had a close encounter of the kind that normally leaves marks with a concrete column in a VERY TIGHT underground parking lot. The column lost and the finish on my metal actually peeled the paint off the concrete, not the other way around. As an added bonus, ZERO dings for 3 years from other car doors in parking lots.

The step is really a concession to my vertically challenged but gorgeous wife ;) But with the Hooke I get the step and rock guards in one unit and unlike many other units on the market their design does not rob me of ANY ground clearance. And they are REALY built like a brick outhouse.

And after learning to HATE my last light bar mounted on pillars on my Overland (noisy as all hell and tough on car wash equipment) and looking at a lot of very expensive options for the new Mojave I just ordered this 12" 300W light bar that will be unobtrusively mounted on my front bumper. It's low enough that it will not get in the way of the camera and while priced very well and scoffed by some Jeep owners because of the "low cost" I ran a Nilight bar and flood pods for 3 years with ZERO issues, they are GREAT gear from my own personal experience. Always worked as advertised. And this little thing will suit my needs splendidly AND it's orange to match the accents on the Mojave!!!

These two upgrades finish off my "Dream Gladiator". I'm DONE!!!

No Nanny's, manual Transmission, Stong clutch with good feel. engine torque, stable electronics, or no electronics option :)
A Jeep not a car under Jeep appearing bodywork!
The OEM clutch was a shit design from the beginning, who TF makes a twin disc design that isn't even rated for 300BHP, let alone WHP/TQ? Stellantis does.

Check out SouthBend Clutch clutches, they make all sorts of good stuff for every application, and if they don't, they will with a donor vehicle. I use one in my rally car, single disc, rated for 400wtq, engages like a stock clutch and has feedback like a clutch should, some have said it's even nicer than the stock engagement.

They also use them in the race/off-road world.

Bigger interior space, and better cooling on the EcoDiesel. I'm pretty happy with the truck I have.
For better cooling, swap in a quality aftermarket aluminum radiator. Did this on my rally car to prevent issues with plastic end caps, worked in FL heat and North East winters without issues.

You may want an aftermarket tranny/engine oil cooler system too, as most aluminum rads don't have these built in, unless you spend much more. But that's just another point of failure when you need a tranny flush.

I’ll echo this on the end caps. Fully welded aluminum ends caps on an aluminum radiator are worth their weight in cooling. Heck of a lot tougher on the trail too. Most people only think about protecting the fins when wheeling but if you get into the “twist your frame” type stuff having metal end caps is great peace of mind. I’ve only seen 1 crack once in some pretty gnarly stuff but if it happens once it can happen again.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried to swap in one of the old Mercedes D300 engines. Those things ran forever as well. Not the fastest but they just ran and ran. Heck the D300 was probably heavier than a loaded Gladiator so it would be a good match. :CWL:

What's your dream build for a Wrangler or Gladiator?
Be as detailed or brief as you want. This could be for you or your family.

Build: Wrangler 3-row Overlook Concept
Yes I know the 3-row is never going to happen because of the Grand Cherokee L, but I'd rather have a Wrangler 3-row than a GC.
Before you flame me for wanting 3 rows, my 2 active boys carry more shiit than the Titanic and require as many friends with them as possible. We're constantly using our 3rd row in our Acura MDX. This would be my wife's primary DD.

Exterior Colors: '41 with Gobi roof, grille, and decals
Interior: the just-released Sarge interior, but my wife would want leather seating (same color though)
Wheels and tires: 17" AEV Borahs in bronze on 35" tires
Engine: 5.7L Hemi V8
Lift: Mopar 2"
I'll stop there, but add your details...
