I have a Jlur and 2 Jt's on the daily the Jt's work for me. I did put a soft top on my Jtr because my grandson like riding with Papa with the top down like in my Jk or my Cuda convertible there easy to take down and actually are pretty aur tight when up. If you buy a hardtop you can usually find a soft top and hardware for 600 to 800 dollars online
not for a JT LOL people want gold for their factory take off!! Bestop has a kind of nice one too.

That's.a good price. The cheapest one I ever seen selling was $900. You could score one for a JKU for $300 all day long when I had mine.

What hoist do you use? a motor attached to the ceiling of your garage, or a stand alone wheeled hoist? I'm looking for a wheeled hoist that works with my gladiator and my wife's JL.
The Harken Hoister. Used it for my JK and it works even better for the JT. It's a hand pull rope and with the light JT top, it's very easy, I didn't even need to re-rig any attachment points so it'd work on both of your family Jeeps, although you'd need to lower one onto a cart and wheel it out of the way then back the other Jeep under it and you store that too up by the ceiling still in place in the hoister. Here it is on Quadratec and Amazon

Man, if the price was cheaper I'd be all over that. One that folds down to the bed is the way it should of been designed. As it stands with the OEM soft top, I want to throw up every time I see one open on one. I got a soft top in the garage that came with mine but I ain't got the heart to do that to my Gladiator.
indeed yet another matter of opinion

Am going to put a different twist on this thread -> how much will your kids like/dislike those back seats? I’m just providing a perspective of family-first.

As an adult sized person, these backseats are really upright, and they have a weird angle to them, down by the seatbelts. The front seats are awesome. If you get leather, the backseats have a fold-down cup holder area. If we travel more than an hour or two from home, our kids do not enjoy the ride - they do enjoy the shorter trips with top-off and/or doors-off.

In the front seats, we really enjoy our Mojave. If you’re planning on longer trips with bigger kids in the back ( band, football, vacations, ..) then they’ll prefer something with better comfort in the back ( like an SUV or full-size).

also, for the things you haul, does it matter if it can get wet, cold/hot, and does it matter how well you can secure it?

Have had both. Had a Sahara JL and now the High Altitude JT.

The JL was nice, I miss the manual trans but had useless storage compared to the gladiator unless you travel with two bags. I’d say this:

- JT rides better out of the lot with its longer wheel base
- JT has better Storage, more useful with the bed
- JL has my favorite roof, the sky touch

Otherwise pretty much the same. If you are on the fence about the roof do this. Get yourself the hard top, and buy a bestop sunrider. Keep the sunrider on during spring-fall, put the hard top back on for winter. That’s what I do, and I love it. The sunrider is my favorite feature.

I’ll also say id rather have the ability to have agile roof’s when I feel like it, plus the ability to make the ride quieter, vs the sky touch, that’s not a feature.

If I bought a JL again, it would only be because it’s a 392. Tho I May pick a 2dr one up for my wife later on.

I know this is a Gladiator forum...

But I need a new vehicle and am looking at used Mojave's and used Wranglers.

I had a 19 Sahara a couple years ago but sold it and not sure if the Gladiator would be better in the long run and was wondering if anyone has had experience with both. I won't do any off-roading, just daily driving with the kids, errands, etc.

The main reason I like the Wrangler is for the Sky One Touch. Removing my old hard top was such a pain, I hated it and the gladiator doesn't have that option. Kids would love having that open air feeling

However, having the Mojave comforts, shocks, and bed would be better on a day to day basis (at least I think)

Any opinions would be great

Thanks!
I have both a JL Rubicon and a Mojave JT. The Mojave is quickly becoming my daily driver and I ordered the Bestop Sunrider for easy open air. I have no plans to off-road the Mojave, except maybe the beach. My JL has all the off-road goodies and I am currently in KY for the Jeep Jamboree.

I would go with new to get full warranty, Jeep Wave free services for 2 years, etc. Through the end of the month, Jeep is offering a 10 or 15% discount off of sticker price , depending on trim) and some dealers are dropping their prices down even further. I just bought my loaded Mojave for about $13K below sticker at Tate in Frederick, MD - If you are interested, and live in NoVa, give Beth a call at the dealer and tell her Tim sent ya. (I got a new Summit Reserve Grand Cherokee the same week and bought 2 cars together from her the last time a few years ago, so they like me there.)

I had a 19 JLR on 37s, took a break with a 2020 Tundra, then put it on 35s.....then I got my 2023 gladiator. Long story short....loved my jeep...but with 37s and not wanting to figure out the steering hip I got at 70 mph... I mainly NEEDED a truck. I love on a farm, but wanted a Jeep. Ended up the Gladiator was right the whole time....eventually it'll be on 35s or 37s...and IF I have steering issues I'll spend what it takes to get right, but I plan on staying light with wheels and tires. And geo correction brackets.

What would I pick...I miss the SUV and classic of just a Jeep. But....I love my truck because it is a jeep...with a truck bed. And for my life, I need it. We also camp a lot...I can light camp with filling the bed, or I can load out with our overland trailer. Either way, the truck suits. Rides great, drives great and I've hauled 1300lbs in the bed, plywood, rock etc. Can't beat that option.

So...it's all in what you want to do with it.

Wow, it sounds like the Gladiator was MADE for you! That's awesome. I love mine, but rarely use it to anywhere near it's capabilities (and mine is "only" a Sport S - with Rubicon take-off wheels/33" tires and a 1.5" leveling lift up front). I need to do better. LOL I'd really like to try camping from it in the NC mountains - either with a bed tent or a stand-alone tent - or maybe buy a used pop-up camper to pull. I've gone up there exploring forest service roads a couple of times, but other than that, I've only explored some dirt roads near me and driven it back & forth to work and run errands around town. No "wheeling" at all really. This is my first Jeep. I considered buying a Wrangler, but wanted the utility of a truck bed. The worse breakover & departure angles were no concern for me, so it was an easy call.

Need a bed? Gladiator. Prefer taller, but shorter, possibly more secure storage, get a Wrangler. Done.

And the rear seat thing is right on the money. Wrangler's rear seat is a little bit more reclined then the Gladiator, if you care about rear seat comfort.

I like secure storage.

And I am perfectly happy with the tri fold option.
