In my opinion, if you’re cross shopping a JLU and a JT, you don’t need a JT. A JLU would never be able to do the towing or hauling mine has done so it wasn’t a real consideration when I got mine. Now that I have my dad’s old truck, I’d rather have a JLU. They have a lot better power to weight ratio, more maneuverable, are better offroad in a lot of cases, and I’d love to have that power sliding top. It would fit in the garage a lot better too.
That's accurate for me.

I shopped both, didn't need either. 😆

I like them both equally, just the Gladiator has more room to put my golf clubs in!

I've had multiple Wranglers and this is my first Gladiator. I really missed my Wrangler in the beginning, but this Mojave drives far better than any of my Wranglers. The Wrangler looks better IMO. I miss the extra covered space inside a Wrangler, but that is fixable with a topper or tonneau which I have. Two main things in favor of the Gladiator are all my stuff stays in the bed like all of my soccer balls and goals. Nothing rattles or creaks inside the cab. The biggest reason though are how the seats work in the Gladiator. I can just raise the 40% side so it's easier for my dog to get in and out. Then I can just put the seat bottom down and he has the entire area to move around or put his head out the window especially at drive thru's. On the Wrangler I had to remove the 40% side permanently. So in essence I have a $50K dog crate that he allows me to use to go to work and take him places. I would like to find a camper or pop up camper at a great deal. The Gladiator has gone way more places off road than my Wranglers have mainly because of the Fox suspension. It's not perfect nor is it robust, but at speed it's pretty good.

I have had a JK, JL, and now a JT. I didn't necessarily love my JK. It served it's purpose and was fun. My JL was more of a second vehicle and the "covered area" was better than what my JT has. However, I have used my JT in more ways than my JL and JK combined. I feel my JT drives better on all terrain. Whether it be on the interstate or on a snow covered trail, the JT seems better IMO. The JT definitely fits my lifestyle better. I have hauled my motorcycle trailer multiple times with it and have no complaints. Personally, its the JT for me, but the JL is an improvement over my JK.

Best case is within a few years, as the warranty would replace it. The reality is, it's likely a decade plus. I still wouldn't buy one because it will eventually leak, but just like convertibles the leaks on 15-20 year old vehicles don't matter to most people who buy new vehicles every 2-7 years as the leaks usually develop latter than that.

I prefer a pickup for smelly things--gas cans, yard chemicals, pool chemicals. And the occasional 10ft boards for the fence line. So the Gladiator has been great for us. A really fun vehicle that is practical too. We have a trailer if needed for anything big.

If we did not already have a RX350 SUV with about 100K miles on it I would want a Wrangler too.

If I had empty space in the garage, I would go with a 2 door wrangler and leave the top off!!!

You can even do 16' boards if you get creative.

I originally was building my 2011 Grand Cherokee to be an overlanding vehicle. When Jeep came out with the Gladiator I could not wait to get one. Though it took me a few years I got one. It is the perfect (for me) overlanding vehicle. It combines the fun driving of a wrangler with the utility of a truck.
