Got the build sheet but it’s broken down to standard equipment and optional equipment. Is the optional equipment what was additionally ordered and now part of my gladiator order? Pretty sure I didn’t order half the items in this list like the tow package, spray in bed liner, and a couple other items. Dealer is gonna be surprised when I decline to pay for items they ordered without me knowing. Lol
Did you receive a order confirmation sheet from the dealer with the VON? That should tell you what the dealer initially ordered.

Im starting to think the dual tops are a major instigator to delay. A constraint on tops would certainly explain it.

I received the VON but considering they snuck the bedliner on this order, it doesn’t surprise me that the other options were added as well.

You should have gotten from the dealership a sheet showing the order as submitted and accepted which then generates the VON.

The bedliner from most reports seems to have been push by the factory after the fact. Anything else, I would put money on it that your dealer added after the fact and did not tell you. Sounds like you wanted the base Sport and probably at the time the dealership tried to submit it, FCA would not let them unless they added the 24S package which basically makes it a Sport S. I think your salesman rather than get with you to tell you the base Sport could not be inputted at that time, punched in the Sport S package and that is what is coming in.

I would be prepared if I were you that there is the possibility that you may be forced into a take it or leave it situation with maybe a possibility they discount some for the added stuff, but I would not count on the dealer eating the whole cost for the extras.

I don't understand it though. They are building premium soft top orders and hard top orders. Or is it the tonneau that was forced with dual top, that they need for the Late Editions.

Well, if you can build two Jeeps and one top goes with each instead of 2 out the door with one Jeep...you keep 2 people happy and 1 angry.

Funny, mine is a dual top option. May be the reason it is stuck in I status.

I’m not sure there are many “Happy” people left. If there were there would not be anyone left on this forum complaining. It would be full of people enjoying Jeeps and workings on mods. It may be the instant gratification culture we embrace or a combination of poor communication and false expectations.

All I know is I still don’t have a vehicle that originally had a early June ship date.

Well wishes for all.

Anyone have any luck tracking the vehicle after it supposedly left Toledo other than calling the dealership?

I’m trying not to pester my dealer but approaching 15 days without an update in Texas. I just figured I would hear something by now. We have bad weather predicted by the end of the week and would prefer my truck to be in the garage at the house for mods than in transit somewhere.

I'm following this because aside from the early dual top that shipped to Canada I haven't seen any either.
I'm thinking that is what is holding my black Rubicon up. I told my sales guy today that I am about to order a sting gray instead of my 5/2 order. Apparently they are being built and delivered in 2weeks or so.
Summer is rounding down so no need for the soft top until next spring. My JK has been hardtop all summer waiting to trade it in any minute.:headbang::no::angry:
I wouldnt count on a 2 week sting gray. I think they picked a few lucky few to make and get the ball rolling the rest are just in D or D1 after ordering when it first opened. There is no rhyme or reason on how or when they build these.

So I guess this was not a true statement, all the materials for your build are gathered.

I believe this is precisely the issue. Its not FIFO for dual top owners if tops are a constraint. They had "all if the items ready and sequenced" for my build nearly 2 months ago. I'm thrilled to have my dealer-spec Rubicon now, but my original order is STILL in D status now 2 months later with NO explanation. Codes be damned, various powers that be are unable to explain precisely why the original D1 with ship EST of May 23 is still in D. There is clearly a simple answer, but the machine is unable to summon it.

I am wondering if the constraints for the dual top option is the hard top? I seem to recall on the JL forum of people that ordered the two top option and getting their JL delivered with a “IOU” for their soft top being dropped shipped to the dealer when available for pickup at a later date.
