Your dealers an idiot for promising anything. What happened to first come first serve? COVID, business, investors and profit.
They accepted the order in good faith, they should deliver the same. His money was good enough when he walked in the door, they should see it thru. That’s your opinion, you’re entitled to it. I don’t agree. Will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Right. Except the dealer isn’t FCA, they’re a dealer. I’m not going to yell at Eaton because Grainger told me they can’t get me my electrical panel in the time they promised. You can get mad at me or disagree all you want, I gave you the truth. Either accept it or continue to be upset about it, it’s just the way it is.

? no on told you to yell at anyone Mr. Electrical. And, it hasn’t escaped notice that you are one of the higher end builds, which might explain your exaggerated bristling. Yapping on this forum is nothing more than a past-time, but no.... no one has to accept it, they can hit Fakebook, or Twitter and make opinions known, or Jeep chat, or an interested reporter, if they think it might be worth a go on a down news day, if there ever is one again. ? It’s neither here nor there, you might have missed the part where I said I’m not at the point of griping yet, I’m in the beginnings of my wait. As for being mad at you, Naw! I’d Have to care about your opinion enough to be.

My dealer promised a 4-6 week delivery. In my world and civil law, that IS a promise. but if you can look at people on here who are waiting since June, (there is more than one, and I’m not one of them) and think that is fair while others go zipping out the door I’m sure I wouldn’t frequent your business. Whatever happened to first come first served? Do those lower spec models get built before the 2022 builds go thru, or were these ppl wasting their time and money? At least one person just asked that question. The “so what if your poverty spec” takes more time isn’t how they feel, I’m sure.
Dealers can’t and should not be making any promises about delivery time, because it’s 100% out of their control.

Your problem isn’t with Jeep, it’s with unethical dealers making promises they can’t keep, something that if reported, Jeep wouldn’t let that slide.

I don’t care so hard I’ll respond multiple times before telling you how much I don’t care. ?? Would be a real shame if it took too long.

I currently don’t have a problem with my order OR my dealer. If the build comes in reasonably on time, because he claims that has been his turn around time, then I won’t have a problem with him at all. Will let you know in Sept/Oct on that. My comments were about all the people already waiting months while others are getting their orders in weeks. Obviously some are waiting on special parts, or unavailable ones, others are out of country, but most are just simply lower level trims. So, the problem is indeed with Jeep who seems to be skipping over people who made orders in good faith, for a better profit margin.

That is all.

How they actually prioritize orders is anybody's guess, the observations in these threads are just gleaned from people's experiences in general. It makes complete logical sense for them to prioritize higher end builds in this climate and I don't blame them at all. Profit drives the decisions among automakers and that's just reality.

Getting mad about it isn't going to make it get here any sooner. If your dealer failed to actually place the order in the system when you put money down, that's on them. Otherwise it's up to Jeep to fulfill your order. It's ready when it's ready :)

IF and that is a big IF, they were prioritizing higher spec builds, that's simply just business, the reason I say it's just business is because this....

Nobody "promised" anyone anything.

The problem here is you said they "promised."

Promise what? And where did they promise it? Did they put it in writing?

"We promise to deliver your truck in 4-6 weeks."

No business would ever use those words in this case, but any rational mind would know that them using the word "promise" is borderline laughable because it's completely out of their control.

There is too much emotion behind the words here and not enough logic.

I find it extremely hard to believe they used the words "promise" in delivery time for you.

You’re wasting your time lol. He doesn’t possess any logic or common sense and is obviously a very naive late millennial or 90s baby. “People will care if I tell everyone on social media!!!!!”

oh ffs. What is all the hassle about? ?
I never stated “We promise to deliver your vehicle in 4-6 weeks.” And why are the Mojave peeps losing their sh*t?

I knew bout the chip shortage, etc when I ordered. I was very plain with the dealer, I wanted to know what the wait was, he said 4-6 weeks is what we are seeing. I said you sure you don’t mean 6 months? I’ll drive down to MD and grab the same one off the lot. His reply was to show me his computer, and the the orders (huge list) he took that were showing up within the week. All pretty much within that time frame. If My build comes in 2 months, even by 1st week of December would be fine, I won’t freak, but his assurance was definitely a 4-6 week time frame. Verbal agreements are included in the law, you don’t need to hear the word “Promise”.

he is a she, and I’m insulted to be called Millennial or a 90’s baby.

i have plenty of logic, it’s sad that you have no moral compass and have to resort to name calling, but I’m the 90’s baby...... ok

To be fair, I'm basically a 90s baby by about a month lol.

It's emotional which is ok because it's an exciting process to buy a brand new vehicle, but the details.... yeah, not sold on them lol.

This is my last reply because you're backtracking and moving the goal posts on what you said and resorting to petty fallacies.

You said "My dealer promised a 4-6 week delivery. In my world and civil law, that IS a promise."

Good luck with your truck.
