Took delivery today! I'll get some photos up once I have all my goodies on. Just a heads up, the dealer said all vehicles right now will sit in storage for 8 weeks before shipping. Take with a grain of salt but mine and a couple others it was the case.

So mine's been "In Production" since May 12. That seems like a while to roll through the assembly line. I don't have many add-ons (aux switches, tow package, and bed liner). If I had to guess, the bed liner is probably slowing things up.

But...could it be that Jeep is already starting to alter their existing orders to accommodate standard equipment that will be on the '23 model? For instance, are they starting to put in emergency braking or updated rear axle seals? Maybe PW and PDL will be standard? At any rate, if changes are being made, would Jeep (or the dealer) add the cost to my agreed upon purchase price or would I get a "bank error in your favor" or would I have to sign some sort of change order or addendum if the build ends up being different than ordered? I'm not too worried about it, just curious if any of you all know.

I am looking at ordering a car and the dealer said the factory is now producing 2023 models so this could be a possibility.

I’m an effort to get a gray dash without the tan leather while playing on the configurator I selected saddle color leather than upgraded to black perforated leather. The configurator kept gray dash and added black leather seats. Has anyone received their order in this configuration?

Interesting that you mentioned this. I test drove 2 different Rubicons 2 weekends ago. One had the "normal" red dash panel and the other had the black/charcoal panels. Honestly I hate the red dash and I asked the salesperson how I could get the black dash panel. She couldn't tell me. This past weekend I sat with a different dealership to place an order and they also didnt know how to get this black dash. I was playing with the Jeep site yesterday and found what you found. One thing I can say is the JL with the black panel that I drove did NOT have saddle seats. So I would say this is the way to get the black panels.

There was another post recently on this forum somewhere where somebody has accidentally configured their order this way... it seems it will indeed ship however it is shown on the configurator.

I put my order in yesterday with Gupton and Daniel informed me that the spray in bedliner, satin black grill, or the tube side steps from the factory were not options that could be ordered right now. He said that he thinks they "Jeep" removed a lot of the options from the orders that were holding up builds so that they didn't run into any additional delays. On my order I went with LED Lighting, Cold Weather, Towing and, upgraded wheels. Now the waiting game begins.....

My Gobi JTR is being prepped at the Mall of Georgia - thank you Mike Clinnin! The key dates that I anxiously waited thru:
3/14 ordered and VON
3/15 VIN
3/16 FCA [internal sys] listed 5/9 build date
5/12 framing (build sheet avail)
5/13 paint
5/18 FCA [internal sys] ready to ship (window sticker avail)
6/3 arrived at dealer and being PDI'd
5/18 to 6/5 So after build was completed, online chat and tracking went dark. Screen shot from order tracking 2 days after dealer arrival. Good for generalities but not quite Fedex tracking

Dealer is full of beans, unless he meant to say that you may not see one until 2023 .
Depends on the CAR, but Jeep isn't doing 2023 now. The Jeep dealers can't even order 2023 Gladiator yet. (not according to mine - or the Jeep build and buy site)

But...could it be that Jeep is already starting to alter their existing orders to accommodate standard equipment that will be on the '23 model?
More speculation. The new safety configurations aren't due until September 1. Plenty of time to get them into 2023.
Even if they did, that engineering would already be done. That's because it already exists as options on trucks like mine. Like many things, it will simply be standard instead of the option that it currently is. So nothing really has to change from an engineering or design standpoint. It's already there. I believe I saw where half of the new cars sold last year already met the agreed upon requirements.

They can't make major changes to existing orders on you - anyone remember the Chevy vs. Oldsmobile engine fiasco? The penalty to GM was a crock, a huge joke, but buyers of those cars got $550 refund, as I recall. So don't look for Jeep to ship a hybrid to you if you ordered the standard 3.6 VVT/VVL/ESS engine.
They can't "alter exiting orders". What a backlash that would cause.

I am very curious about something.
Most have reported the time it has taken from their order date to delivery, or at least from order date to shipping date (and god only knows how long shipping takes LOL)
But I am wondering - what's the average or typical - these days, say, just this year only, from the date of order to the date the vehicle was in the schedule to be built, regardless of when that scheduled build date might be.
If you ordered on Feb 21, 2022, on what date was it actually put into the schedule to be built?
Not the date it was to be built, but the date they said "hey, your truck has been scheduled to be built!"
Was the build date scheduled in a week, 2 weeks, a month, 2 months?
Example - my order was placed, and confirmed by Jeep as to having been placed, 5/02/22.
As of 6/06, it has not been scheduled.
I'm wondering if there's a pattern as far as how far down the food chain some dealers are because of low volume, or perhaps crappy survey returns (customers griping doesn't make Jeep happy and such dealers actually lose position in the food chain - dealers will tell you that). IF they only order 2 or 3 a month, and/or have really bad reviews from customers, Jeep punishes them with lower rewards and lower priority.
Perhaps some can't be scheduled because they simply can't get certain parts - a huge problem these days in all sectors of our economy -not just cars. (just try to find a new aux battery for these)
Perhaps a combination.
Just wondering what the typical timeframe is now...... and what people are seeing as far as how long most are seeing from order date to when they are told their new vehicle is on the schedule.

Mine never received a build. Went straight to Sticker. Hopefully that is a good thing.

https://cryptostickers.net/Details.html?nick=shawnd23
Only the dealer or the tracking web site can give you a build date - or contacting Jeep chat. Cryptostickers will never inform of a build date.
They only tell you when the build sheet or window sticker is ready.
So if you rely only on that, you never will get a scheduled build date.

I'm referring to the dealer informing you, or contact with Jeep chat, or using the Jeep order tracking site -

This is Jeep - not cryptostickers.
So I guess those relying only on the cryptostickers site - the order tracking discussed back at the beginning of this thread, can't possibly answer. I guess I asked in the wrong place!

mine was 1 month + a couple days from order date til dealer told me build date was scheduled. it’s possible that a date was assigned before that. because i knew it was a waiting game, i really tried not to keep pestering the dealer…

I've not contacted my dealer - been relying on the Jeep track your order site and the supposed text updates.
I can tell everyone for a fact right now - the Jeep site and the email that tells you to enter your phone number for text updates - not ready for prime time.
I never got any texts, the confirmation part is broken, never got the welcome text, and - note in my prior post above that I showed my Jeep isn't even scheduled for production, it's still in "thank you for your order" status.
Wrong.
Dealer called me just after I posted that image and said he had a message when he first got in today (at about 8am) that my truck is in D1, it's scheduled, and the "estimated ship date" is June 23rd.
He also said that he's been seeing them built just before that, just after that, and one just came in that had only been on the schedule with an estimated ship date for a few days - and it was there already.
So he said - could be sooner, could be a couple of weeks later than that, but it's moving now.
They can't actually schedule until they have all of the necessary "stuff", so I jokingly told him - I guess a shipment of blue paint came in over the weekend?!
It is interesting, though, that it took over a month to hit the schedule (D1), so it goes to the point of - they are scrambling, shortages are hurting the processes but things are still moving.

He also mentioned that the shipping time is all over the map - my first one shipped Sunday evening and arrived Tuesday morning - not two days later, but he says that they have some end up in the rail yards in KC and sit for 2 weeks or more before they are trucked up because there's a shortage of drivers, screwing up logistics badly - they need full loads going a certain direction and when that load is ready, drivers may not be. He emphasized the trouble they are having getting Jeeps trucked to them.

Anyway, the tracking site - meh, it's either not working, or not working sometimes for some, or it's behind
and
the text message updates - definitely not working at all - not for me. .I have yet to get a text message from Jeep.
The dealer said he knew of the problems with the new system, which went into play on the same day he placed my order, and was going to keep me updated. He's keeping his promise. I may not like the dealership- but he's a good guy.
