Leaving for my install next week! 4/15. The wife and kid and I are planning on making the trip to Montana from San Diego, spending some time in Bozeman, hitting west Yellowstone for a few days, Missoula, coure de alene, bend Oregon, and my Shasta and back to San Diego. Any recommendations on cool places to stop and check out?

Finishing up my bed plate for the install. Gonna mount the fridge and a little bench system against the cab in the future. Plate is 1/2 inch birch coated in sealant and then lined with surf grass for some comfort. Plan is to have modular mounting point all across the plate to add and take away stuff as needed. Much cheaper than a goose gear plate!!

i wish i could afford one of these gonna have to settle for the rack and tent combo instead
i had thought the same up until 10 minutes ago when I added ip costs and relaized a canopy with rack and tent is actually more expensive than these.

for those who have these. Couple questions
1) how well do they seal to prevent dust intrusion
2) how thick is the roof. Could one drill through it for mounting of antennas?

seals really well doesn't really come in at all, and you could drill or could mount on the side rails that go around the whole camper

Im not sure how you figure that? A bed rack on the high high end would maybe be 2k and a high end tent 4k the campers are going to start at 7. I got my rack and gfc superlight for a total of 2600 so far cheaper then a camper

Second that comment. A rack and tent combo will probably be cheaper all together. However with the GFC you’re paying for the total enclosure concept of having a camper. Arguably the GfC is one of the most lightweight and versatile campers in the market.

As far as dust and water intrusion goes, the older V1 models had some issues, but the V2 model has addressed those issues. I have pressure washed mine 5x so far since owning it and the only water intrusion I got is from the tailgate edges Jeep has from the factory.

The roof is a honeycomb material that you could easily drill through if you wanted. However I wouldn’t recommend it since it voids your warranty and you have plenty of mounting options all around the edges of the camper roof via the T-slot track system they incorporate. So if it’s antennas you’re mounting, plenty of guys on the GFC forum mount theirs to the rails around the tent.

Happy to answer any other questions you may have.

a bed rack with tent is not really compariable with the go fast. The go fast is a full blown canopy with integrated tent. So apples to apples would be a canopy with RTT. canopies range anywhere from 3K on the cheap end to over 6k. So figure 4500 on average If you consider shipping. Another 3500 for a tent with shipping. Thats 8K together not including a rack to marry them together. The go fast starts at 7700.

Great thread! Just wondering how comfortable the mattress is, since it is pretty thin. Any mods (adding memory foam, etc.) that you are doing? Also, bedding is stored below I assume? Thanks, in advance.

Awesome company, made in America, quality stuff. You should buy one.
Any website where i have to click 40 pages to figure out if it fits my vehicle and they wont even list pricing is not a good product. Is this multi level marketing? Which hipster gofund me do i put my money into to get tier 4 level 1 pricing?

cool product but what a convoluted cluster F of a buying process.

how much taller is the gfc from the cab of the jeep?
I’m at work right now, I’ll shoot some measurements when I get home for you.

The mattress is definitely on the firmer side. The wife wants to add some memory foam type topper for a little more comfort. To me it’s not that bad, but plenty of dudes on the Gfc forum add some foam up top to help out. As for bedding, I leave our north face double sleeping bag up top at all times and it closes just fine. We usually bring our pillows from home and toss them in a cargo net I hung from the back. I’ll post some pictures for you later when I get home.

Ok Boomer... ? lol, from the front page you click on the drop down menu and select the product you want, which lists the base price of $7,700. Scroll down a bit and see all the additional prices for extra windows and doors. Then there’s some drop down boxes that show which vehicles are compatible. Not sure where the confusion with 40+ pages is coming from.

if “hipster go fund me” helps me support products built, designed, and manufactured right here in the US of A that supplies jobs to American citizens, well then call me a hipster i guess... China must have better website developers...

from the roof to the top of the camper is 7”. From the roof to the top of the crossbars is 10”. Overall from the ground to the top of the crossbar is 83”.

Here’s a shot of my “bedding cache”. We keep extra blankets in there at all times. But when we plan on camping we toss our pillows in too.
