I hope this is the best spot for this post.
I had a 2022 Manual Sport base model. I loved it. Then my wife decided she wanted to get a new Boat, and the weight of the boat on the trailer is a little over 4,000lbs dry, which means my truck was useless for towing it.

So, I decided to trade in.
I went to Gupton Motors in Springfield, TN- which is only an hour away from me, and I got a really great deal. They gave me $36k for my trade-in (which is 99% of what I paid for it), and I got a 2023 new Silver Rubicon that was marked down from $59,995 to a final sale price of 50,995. (not including taxes and everything). And, I get $3k back from the warranty that the last place somehow worked into the price of the truck that I didn't know existed until the sales person asked about it and the finance lady at Gupton looked at and said there was nothing preventing a refund. Really great service.

Here's the window sticker for it. I think I did damn well.

Gupton is well known in these parts. They actually do even better deals on ordered vehicles than they do on stock vehicles, but going that path there's always the uncertainty in the current market that your trade will tank in value over the months it takes to order. I think everyone's always concerned about the bottom falling out of the used car market with it having been so elevated for so long (and new cars getting rebates again, which definitely affects the used market).

You definitely have a good deal there.

As an aside, when I bought my JTR, the F&I guy ”snuck in” $2K worth of crap I had specifically told him I refused to get (Tire/Wheel protection, Mopar Vehicle Maintenance, Karr alarm, etc). It took some effort, but I got it all refunded. It was just extra profit for the dealer. So annoying…

Great deal, Mike!!! I got my Sport S from Mt Juliet and I feel got a great deal there as well. However when I trade again, I will have to give Gupton a chance. Not that much farther from me over here in Smithville, TN.

Hey Phil!
I think we discussed the AuxBeam mod I did a while back on my Sport Gladiator.
I'm pretty satisfied with the Gupton folks. The guy I worked with, Greg, was really unlike any salesperson I've dealt with before- He was just there to talk and chat. I think he knew I was going to buy, so there wasn't any "Schmoozing" or silliness involved with the deal. I really appreciated that.

I will say, I'm having sort of a "paradigm' shift after getting this new truck. After all of the blood, sweat and tears that I have put into modifying my own cars over the past 20 years, it is SO NICE to just have something that has everything I want. The younger me would have fought this attitude tooth and nail, and taken pride in the fact that I can install/fix/modify anything I wanted. But I'm starting to think I'm getting old from the perspective that when I recently put on a bumper and winch, I was honestly sore for about 3 days afterwards.

I might not yet be giving up on home modding (especially with having a significant amount of tools and 2 decades of experience under a hood) but I'll tell you I feel a huge sense of relief that I don't have to separately deal with a re gear, adding lockers or and LSD, and having to figure out how to get a better suspension.

So, as of right now, and until I click over to the off-road parts website the next time I get bored, things are going pretty good with it!

Yes, I believe we did Mike! I actually wired up my ditch lights a bit differently as I could not get the AuxBeam 6 switch control module to fit under the hood.
Sounds like your salesman Greg was a good person to deal with. I get so tired of the BS some salespeople try to pull on you.
Understand about modifying a vehicle and it sounds like you have a lot of experience and talent. I too have a lot of tools and mostly just work on my motorcycles and additionally add items to the Gladiator. Would love to add a front locker, a lift, etc., however right now with the Falken Wildpeak tires added, only a 265 70 R17, I feel like I am good enough to get around most dirt roads or light trails. Plus, I love the 21 to 23 MPG on the road I get! And I am a bit nervous about busting into the differentials, suspension, etc, myself. Plus, at almost 69 years old, I understand about the "hurt thingy" for 3 days as well...LOL!!!
I may later get another Rubicon too, however I have to save up some more pennies before I do anything!
Sounds like you bought a wonderful boat! Can't wait to see pictures of it. Tim's Ford Lake is where we use to boat, however in this area, Center Hill lake I have been told is pretty nice too!

I wish there was a sticky thread on recommended dealerships by region of the country with testimonial threads linked. There are some that pop up with a great deal every once in a while but Peterson Jeep in ID and Gupton Motors in TN seem to be the standard.
