Does the part number on the PCM mean anything when trying to determine if I have a GPEC5 or GPEC2a PCM?
I looked up the part number and mine is the same as the 2020 model. Looking deeper there are 2 different part numbers available for both 2021 and 2022.

Thanks

Your build sheet will say which one.
I don't believe any 2020 got the 5.
Connections will tell you.
My 2020 had the 2a, my 2022 has the 5.
I believe the switch was somewhere in later 2021.
No, you can't easily switch types............... functions of the pins are mapped differently.
If you have a 2022, you likely need the 5

2A on the left, 5 on the right - pretty danged easy to look and see which you have.

Wow, how'd you get a 2a?

My 2022 has the GPEC5 - big fat connectors on the top............

Is yours standard or automatic?

Only difference I could think of. Unless they found a container of 2as and threw them in some of them.

Mine is automatic - as was my 2020.
My 2020 was equipped exactly the same with 3 exceptions (one unrelated to electric)
Both Overland.

Differences:
My 2022 has the 4H auto transfer case,
aux switches,
and Gorilla Glass windshield which would have no impact on anything else.

The aux switches shouldn't matter, programming is there even if you don't have them.

The kicker is - the wiring harnesses and pin-outs would have to be different. They can't just say hey, we'll toss in a 2a since we have some - not without other changes to the truck. Wiring is the big one. There aren't simple adapters and the harnesses are different.

Maybe the 2a is needed for a standard transmission. idk why else they would be putting it in the new truck.
Thanks for the info, now I need to start prepping my garage, and bank account, for a weekend of wrenching and extra vroom vroom. ?

Failures were due to a controllable situation. There's a TSB about it - very fixable (no parts needed)
(and frankly, I've not seen that many reports of issues here that weren't resolved readily)

The 5 has been in use elsewhere in other FCA vehicles without issue. It's been used in Ram trucks and other FCA vehicles. Appears Jeep was among the last to receive it.

He talked of getting his bank account in order - that sort of speaks to something other than a new air intake LOL
Lucky dog got the GPEC2a. The 5 can't be reprogrammed.

Hey, so, only because I'm too far away to pick it up and he doesn't want to ship (26 hour drive round trip) or otherwise I'd have bought this last week, check this out and chat with the seller a bit.

Looks like you are new to the board, so check out his posts, he was the GO TO GUY for superchargers and tuning. His experience didn't end great, but I haven't lost all hope, and like I said, I'd have picked up his setup if I was within a reasonable distance. Definitely know what you are getting into though with SC'ing the 3.6.

@DAVECS2 is the guru we didn't deserve, and hate to see him leave, but bless him for what he did.
