I've got a Mojave on order and I'm looking at new tires. I've got my decision down to these two. I currently have Ridge Grapplers on my '17 JKU Willys and love them.

I was going to just put them on the Mojave and call it a day, but prices went up and I got some recommendations from Jeepers at work to check out the General Grabbers. This is my daily driver, short commute, as well as my weekend wheeler, but not into insane rock crawling or super technical routes.

On paper, they're basically identical except the Generals are 3-peak rated for snow. Non-snow reviews have them basically performing the same as well.

The Nitros are ~$60 more expensive per tire for a tire that theoretically performs some degree of worse in snow but is otherwise a great tire. Am I missing something about the Grabbers that people don't talk about? Do they fly off the wheels randomly leaving people stranded in the ocean? Or are they just a great value tire that performs as good or better than the big(ger) name brand guys (like LG vs Sony with TVs)?

Interested in getting peoples' thoughts on these two brands. And yes, I'm familiar with both the adage about opinions and how posts like these usually go. Hoping for the best.

Cheers.

The gg atx are great tires. I'd put them up against any other AT and think they'd compare on par or better. They're actually made by continental and have been around a long time so they are big boys too. I gave them a shot after trying a bunch of other tires and since then have been slowly convincing the rest of the family to give them a try.

I took my time and sourced what I would be using the truck for.
And came up with the General Grabber ATX.
Smooth, Quiet, and Aggressive looking.

In my opinion, it is, and has always been a great tire brand.

Lots of Grabber ATX love here. I love the idea of saving $60 per tire, so bless something drastic happens, probably give them a shot for my first set.

My 35" ATX's have handled everything I've run them through... snow, rain, mud, rocks, dirt and aired down. They run larger in diameter then most and are lighter too. I've had BFG's, Goodyear and Nittos in the past. I'll be getting another set of ATX's when these wear out.
