So I was on travel for the past 2 week and my gladiator sat at the airport. I came back and started it up today and the radio loaded then shifted to please wait for several minutes. It then said guardian is now active and went back to its normal operation... except the rest of the JT didn't. I was driving my usual route and stopped to get gas about 20 miles from my house. As I drove home I noticed the engine wasn't hunting for gears anymore which made the ride much nicer and, even though the air temp was higher now (100 F) than when I left (~90F), all of my temps on the off-roads page were about 15F lower. But then I looked at the fuel economy and saw this...
Now previously I was typically seeing the inst between 24 and 28 MPG and the average would usually come out high 24s low 25s but this time I was seeing 27-35 on the same flat stretch of road with no wind, doing 65 mph, not following any cars, and tire pressure still at 41 psi. I did 65 mph on cruise for about 17 miles then the last 3 were mix residential/hwy doing between 35 and 60.
Has anyone else noticed their gear hunting go away and fuel efficiency greatly improve? Did they remap the fuel system OTA? Or did they screw with the calculations so the previous lie-o-meter (that I found to be fairly accurate) is now back to its old lie-o-meter self?
