Full mag one in the chamber. Appendix carry. For one of them. Inside left ankle for the 2nd one. I have an AR pistol I keep under my rear seat sometimes. That is a 5.56 with a pistol brace and 10 inch barrel. I’d like to do foam under the seat with a place for my pistols and a couple extra mags but we will see. I use that space for other things as well

Jeez…..reading all this it just makes me happy to live in AR where none of this nonsense applies, plus we have Constitutional Carry….as does MO & OK
Right there with you buddy. Anytime I start thinking that Texas does something in a stupid way, I simply have to remember things like this.

I'm in NH, on the Maine border. Both states have Constitutional Carry, as does VT on the eastern border. Hell, NH allows law abiding 18yr olds to carry a handgun, even though the feds say you need to be 21 to buy one.

I live in CA, and get the same flack about "move". Huh.

Not sure how our laws for transport are different to yours, but the open bed of a pickup or the cargo area of an SUV (or old school station wagon) constitute inaccessible storage of firearms, for vehicles without a trunk.

A locked glovebox or center console does NOT qualify, period. If you can reach it from the driver's seat, it is not inaccessible.

The way our laws are written, my locked tailgate with tonneau is a locked container. Despite it can be opened with a pocket knife, like a fabric storage bag with a padlock on it, that's all that is required to constitute secure storage.

I keep my carry gun in a locking "gun safe" secured in the cab, when socializing for example (no adult beverages allowed when carrying). A cut-proof (hah!) lock around a bed tiedown connected to one or more locked rifle cases might work for you?

Guys, please give me a break about living in NJ, I'm sure you can figure out how many time in the last 10 years of being actively involved with the Gun Community I have been lectured about it . :)

I do very much however appreciate and want to thank both of you for your on-topic tips/idea's!!!

Thanks for your thoughts...

Yep, I have a hard tri-fold bed cover which locks...I'll have to read the fine print again of the Law here as to if this qualifies functionally as a "trunk". It should but...LOL.

From my perspective, California is so great, it's worth putting up with stupid gun laws. Hah!

Yea, you attention getters are the first ones who ever said "move" in the Gun Community...Pure brilliance on your part!!! LOL!

I don't mind you repeating the same banal responses over and over again, but it is not the subject of this thread. Start your own BS political thread and carry on with how smart and bless you might be. Lets see who is impressed! LOL!

Im Impressed, and my post was not political, it was my opinion.

CA and NJ suck

Sadly, my state isn't far behind, so I really have no high ground to stand on
except for the fact
that I don't need to separate my ammo from my guns when travelling until I hit a bordering state because none of them reciprocate PA's CC.

There IS enough room behind the rear seats for 3 long guns using a soft Molle set up and either gun socks or soft rifle cases. This area DOES qualify for secured if you lock the seat backs with a key.

If you want a more secure set up, it's going to cost, but it's available. DECKED has long gun racks (horizontal carry) for it's wider drawer and has locks available for the drawers. So if you lock the drawers, lock the tailgate, and have a bed cover, they can't get to your guns.
