I agree with you 100%.

But I think that the OP and the person who followed up with a better version of the same, intend to use these while they are in the car.

I think their goal is better comfort than driving with it in an IWB holster.

Both ideas are dumb. Like others have said, the firearm is better on your body. Safer, faster, and better concealed. If you have a handgun in either of those open locations and you are pulled over for a minor traffic citation, the visual presence of a firearm stuck to the side of the center console will immediately escalate the situation.

Why would anyone want to creat that kind of situation?? If you have the gun on your person then you volunteer nothing, hand your DL and registration to the officer and keep your mouth shut. Obviously if the cop asks, you do not lie to him. But never volunteer anything unless you are in a state that requires notification if you are carrying.
