Originally I was thinking something from TruckVault only because a number of the guys i shoot with use them. The upside is they are super secure and a dedicated lockbox. The downside is that one will cost about the same as a good trap gun.

I have looked at the Decked website and they look promising. Have any experience with them?
We have one, I like it. It’s useful for many things- they do make a rifle storage divider that would secure a gun from being Jostled around.

Mine is loaded with tools, survival gear, first aid, recovery, all sorts of stuff. So- I can’t speak directly on how a gun would work out…. But I can tell you it would be secure and out of the elements.

We have a canopy, and my rifles are all in pelican cases…. So when in transport they just stay in the bed in the canopy in their boxes… ??‍♂?

I have carried my bolt action, M4, and shotguns behind the seat in a case both hard and soft.

I'm in Calif. How i carry in mine is laughable, so no comment ?
Half the gun in one truck and the other half in another truck? In the bright side, you can fill the under seat storage up with all of the 10 rounds mags you have and never run out. ??
Just messing, move to Texas, where people look funny at you if you don’t have a gun. Especially here in the Houston area, you need one. Houston unfortunately is making Chicago look like Disney Land.

Sad but true. Brazoria county here so nothing but come take it and don’t tread on me flags in every town and neighborhood.

Nailed ?.
Has to choose between an AR or AR22, can't have both in the truck caused it can potentially becomes an evil "Assault Rifle".

Same issue for me (it has to be locked)...I couldn't find a reasonable way to store them in the cab of my Mojave. Maybe a small pistol or two, but fitting a long gun even an m4 in that rear under-seat lockable storage is a myth - especially with a red dot on it...Some people say they lock a long gun behind the back seats, must be something different about the Mojave design, ain't going to get a long gun back there...Best place for me is in the bed with the hard trifold mopar T-top locked.
I'm in CA, no problem fitting my AR under rear seat (Rubicon's lockable compartment), along with other things. But no scope.

Will one fit behind the rear seat? The seat backs are lockable too.
On this forum someone shows how they mounted one behind both seat backs. Do a search if you're interested. Not sure what to search on though. Good Luck!

In a soft or hard case on the back seat or the floor in back. I also have a hard locking tonneau and have transported in the bed, but prefer the inside of the cab.

I have the rear seat delete, so mine was easy. I bought a locking rifle rack and mounted it to the floor rear seat mount and the shoulder belt bolt in the roll bar. It’s solid and adjustable to fit different guns. It’s tucked back in the corner, out of the way and easily accessible from the back door. It has a key lock and electric. I haven’t connected the electric yet. I keep smaller capacity mags in the rifles to reduce the projections, but have large mags in go-bag.

I went with the Santa Cruz. It’s durable and adjustable to fit a variety of guns. I’m happy with it. I wish I could mount the rifles closer into the corner but I couldn’t get them any tighter with the optics.
