Hello, I tried looking online at cross bars but I noticed most manufacturers do not post the height of crossbars above the top so I am hoping someone with crossbars can answer. I need a crossbar to match up to the crossbars on my topper which is 3”. Anybody have any crossbars that are that high? This is needed because I will be topping a 12 ft 75lb kayak. Most of the weight will be on the crossbars above my topper so I am not worried about the weight. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Yakima Outpost full height adjustable or the Thule version will both work. they offere both c clip channel/gutter attachment or trail rail attachment. They are also adjustable height to match your existing roof rack. They are pricey but so are most racks off an worth these days.

Have you checked out Billie Bars, T-Slot system and Kayak rack? They post their adjustable height kayak bars. (14”-24”)

Wife and I have the Billie Bar T-Slot truck bed side caps with the 6” riser tent bars. However, we ground tent so these bars secure out totes and large bag items.

This year’s addition is the IRONMAN 50L flat water tank that will be supported by the low riser 6” bars, then 3.5” “tent riser”, then T-slot bars across the top of the water tank, finished off with the kayak bars. With this set up, not only is the water tank out of the way and takes up 0 room but with all the options Billie Bars has to custom build to our needs, the kayaks will have 3” of space across the top of the cab roof.

This won’t work for me since I have a topper, I just need someone above the cab that matches up to the crossbars on my topper.

I kinda wishing I went that route with the diamondback cover but I went with a topper, I need something for above the cab that I can match up to the crossbars on my bed cap.

Sorry I didn’t read that when I rolled outta bed and hit the floor. Hadn’t had my coffee either. Now I get what you’re after.

Looks like most cab bars are in the 2-4 in range. I’d just pick what catches you fancy and use spacers from there
