I PM’d you as well as we’re close to each other, but to answer one question, mine’s probably 3” in front and 3.5” in the rear. Having wheeled it like this, I’d have been disappointed with 2.5. Can you fit the tires? Sure. But I think it clears more obstacles at this height and rides great as my daily driver and towing vehicle. No issues at 80mph. It probably wouldn’t matter much if it’s not going off road. If it is, I’d lean towards 3-3.5. I’d say that with 35’s or 37’s.

Yep good point. Since I'm definitely doing offroad around here like I normally do, 3.5" is just enough, no less. I'm also getting the Adam's driveshaft, might as well.

I’m sure I’ll swap the driveshaft at some point. Hopefully before this one breaks. :)

I cant make up mty mind between a 2.5" and a 3.5" lift for my 2022 rubicon diesel gladiator. Ill be running the 37 k02s that are more like 35s I guess. Also in winter Ill prob be running a studded 35. This makes me lean towards the 2.5", but I do like how the 3.5" kits look.

I just moved from sea level to colorado. my house is at 8300' in evergreen with a long triple switchback driveway with southern exposure. Im going to work on the driveway but sometimes it does get iced up. the diesel doesnt have issues in the mountains so far, gets 25+mpg. I plan for this to be my daily right now, going to sell a grand cherokee i have. In a year or so Ill probably get an electric car for a smooth nice ride so the gladiator will be for snow or rain days, or just using the bed. It wont have to get the best ride but I would like as good of ride as possible. Ive heard many say get the steering stabilizer and pedal monster for the bigger tires.

Leaning towards clayton or metalcloak for the 2.5 or 3.5". If you have a 2 or 2.5 do you wish you had more? If you have a 3.5" do you wish you had less?

help a brotha out.
I've been in the same boat as you, but a JTR gasser. I'm looking to run "37's" in the form or KO2's. I was running the 1.5" Teraflex Front Spacer kit and .75" Daystar Rear Spacer with the factory tires. The lift definitely made the truck tall enough to run the 37” KO2’s, but didn’t really make it more capable off road.

I went back and forth on 2.5 and 3.5 and I finally went with the @Clayton Off Road 2.5" Overland + kit. I was afraid that I wouldn’t notice much difference in my current set up. The Don’t worry about that. The Clayton 2.5” is really more like a 3.5” lift. I definitely noticed the difference. The Clayton 2.5” kit gave me approximately 2.5” over my spacers in the front and approximately 3” over my rear spacer in the rear, though it’s only day 2 of having the lift installed and I expect it to settle a bit.

The truck sits with a slight front rake, but much less than factory and much better than the slightly high (in my opinion) spacer lift I had. I’m running the factory steel bumpers and the Smittybilt X20 Gen3 winch on the front with Rockslide Engineering skids (they are heavy and worth noting the weight) at these measurements.

I also went with the Fox 2.0 Performance Reservoir shock from AccuTune and 1.75” Teraflex wheel spacers on my factory tires and wheels while I resupply the war chest for the 37’s and wheels. I actually like to look for now. The ride a little different than the factory Rubicon. It seems smoother over expansion joint type bumps and a little firmer on a deeper pothole. I haven’t had it off road yet but overall, I’m happy with the ride quality so far.

I also know that Clayton has done several JTR Diesels. I also know that their sales support and customer service are awesome. I must have called then a hundred times.

There’s a lot of good info in this slightly unrelated thread.

Good luck with your decision.

Anyone have any experience with the Dobinson lifts? They have 2 and 3 inch lift kits and you can choose different spring rates based on the weight on the front and rear.

Today I bought the 7 year 75K extended warranty for $1100. It allows a 2 inch lift so I am limited. Street and highway ride is #1 so perhaps a 1.75 spacer lift with 35s will be my limit. No desire to do big rocks. Plenty to spend money on to get set for overlanding. Mojave road and Berrago area will be enough. Love the look of big lifts but my JKUR burned me out on them.

I have the Clayton 3.5" overland plus kit with 37" Goodyear Kevlar MTRs and it is a real 3.5" kit even when loaded.... I am extremely happy with this kit - springs, arms, shocks, etc... 20K hard miles on it, and it has been fantastic. For the Gladiator, I would go 3.5 inches or more.... In fact, I wish I had one more inch of height. It would reduce a lot any scraping I currently get. So, to conclude, I have 3.5 inches or more of height (Clayton is higher than other 3.5" kits) and I still wish I had more - ie. 1 more inch, like 4.5 inches plus...
Note: I have a new front driveshaft and I am running the Rockjock carrier spacer in the back.

I have the 3.5” Teraflex kit with their extended travel rear sway bar kit. Yes, the 37” BFG KO2’s measure 35.6 on my rig, a bit irritating but really happy with the combo and may get the 39x13.5 KO2s assuming they will measure 37.5” or there about

I’m running the Metalcloak True Dual Rate 3.5” w their Rocksport shocks. I’m happy with it. I’m also running 37” KO2s. They’re a hair small (~36.5”), but they fit well. It looks good but sometimes I wonder if I should add 1” spacers. I have an Overland tho so the Rubi’s higher front fenders will probably look that 1” higher. The kit levels the truck as well. It’s 3.5” in the front and 2.5” in the rear.

I’m on the 2.5 AEV kit, stock rims/tires for the moment. Setup for Overlanding, will go 35’s. She lives most miles on pavement as a daily but handles the weekend trails just fine. Good luck OP!

op has already bought a lift but I’m not missing an excuse to post a pic... evo 2.5”/ Clayton arms/ fox shocks... full stuff in the rear on 35’s, it’ll fit 37’s all day and twice on Sunday.... which is what I wanted. Gained 3.5” rear and 4” front

With the Diesel engine 400lbs more I went with the Mopar 2" Diesel specific Lift for my 22' JTRD and added the front Teraflex 1.5" coil spacer to level it in case I went with 37's. I've only had it for 90 days and this is all I've done so far, but I extremely happy with the ride and no bottoming out on bumps.

Gas job Rubicon with 33's . I went with a JKS 3.5, tamed the slight steering issue from the factory and rides great, probably moving up to 35's when the tire prices subside a bit. But JKS had a warranty i could'nt dismiss, a little on the pricey side for the lift.

I wonder if the MC Game Changer 3.5" levels the truck as installed? I'd rather have a slight rake since plan on towing my track car with it, plus more weight back there with my RTT. Level unladen might create a squat condition which I don't want.
