Have factory lift kit installed at dealer or buy a kit elsewhere?

Finally got my second Jeep after letting go of my classic 76' Cherokee. Went with The Willys Sarge Green.
Had it two weeks, love it. Once I got the roll bar on and the lineX bed liner it now looks great. My question is should I take it to my dealer for a factory lift or buy a kit elsewhere. I have no experience with the kits.

I had my dealer install the Mopar 2” lift and because it’s a Mopar kit and they installed it. It’s under warranty with them. Some dealers might be different though. Doesn’t hurt to ask.

Thanks, I suppose that should be my first question is does it affect my warranty. I paid for the 7 year so I'm damn sure not messing around with that.?

I've been told by my dealer that you should buy an additional warranty for the lift. Because it's a performance part. Most if not all lifts from a reputable company will come with a lifetime warranty. Some are better than others as far as customer service. It also depends on what you plan on doing.

Always buy the MOPAR warranty. The dealer will try to sell you on their special deals but MOPAR will cover MOPAR - including your lift.

Please show me on a receipt or in the paperwork for a MOPAR lift where MOPAR covers the warranty on the lift.

Installing dealer is responsible for any warranty on a MOPAR lift because it was not part of the factory build and MOPAR has no control over assembly.

For the OP, IF you get a MOPAR lift and have it installed at a MOPAR dealer, make sure you get something in writing about the warranty for the work and parts.
Also please note that your original MOPAR warranty will no longer cover any parts in the lift AND will not cover any parts damaged by the MOPAR lift parts.

You guys like selling this BS but no one backs it up with what's important, the warranty.

Hey, nice truck and you picked the proper model, a Willys ha (that's what I've got).

Honestly, your question has tons of answers, but what do you want to do with the Jeep? This has so far turned into a warranty debate, but nothing about the lift.

You want 2"? More? Less? Are you changing tires? Mostly on road? Some off-road? Lots of off-road or crawling? Hard to say what to recommend. Give us a bit more info and there are tons of helpful folks here!

No idea what your plans or use case is, but tires were the best thing I've done. But that's totally subjective too depending on what you want out of the truck's looks/abilities.

Can't go wrong with the Mopar 2" lift in my opinion, and can have it installed by dealer or do it yourself depending on your skill set and free time. I went more hands on personally, but I just enjoy working on this stuff.

Well. Like I said I had the Mopar lift kit installed at the dealer
And it IS IN WRITING that the entire kit and any issues would be covered under warranty. I’ve already had one issue and it was taken care of with no problem.

LOL, any brand lift is gonna last the life of the vehicle beside wear parts.. lift kits don't fail.. its the rest of jeep that will fail after you install ; )

Mopar or not mopar ... thats the question ...

personal experience ... due to some restrictions here where live i decides to go for the mopar for the Jeep stickers as well i can claim it OEM ;-) and also bought a clayton 2.5 inch because i thought 2 wasnt enough and i did some mix between both ;-) ;-) ;-) and now i just ordered a Metalcloak looooooooool

Some guys here are super specialist and will tell you depending on what you plan to do ... which tires size you plan to run and which height you wanna be everything could lead you to mopar or aftermarket ... its up to you

but so far i thing ( and i hope other guys will confirm ) Mopar did a good job with their lift.

I think it comes down to cost of the install and what they are charging you for the kit. The kit is fine, but I did add a track bar to mine. Installed at home in an afternoon. But having this dealer do it could save you some headaches and of course time.

You can find the Mopar kit online for $1650-$1850 right now.

I’m considering an AEV for our new one, with some added parts. But wouldn’t hesitate to get another MOPAR.
