Bought a 2023 Mojave w/o the cold weather package, but the dealership is going to put heated seats in for me as part of the deal I made with them.

A little concerned about them putting them in as an upgrade after the fact. I take it back in 2 weeks for them to put the seats in.

Am I worrying about nothing?

I'd be curious if you negotiated the actual mopar heated seats and all the new dash buttons and integration into the head unit, or if they're going to cheap out and put some slip-in aftermarket ones in with non-integrated switches.

Uh, you know you're talking about a dealership right? If they put it on paper and they didn't specify, they are doing it the absolute cheapest way possible. If they didn't put it on paper, they wont even do that (for free).

My Mojave didn't come with the cold weather package and I wish it did. I am getting heated seats installed this fall by a local auto upholstery shop. Im not too concerned about it being after market vs factory.

Ive seen jeeps that have aftermarket heaters installed. Personally I think it looks nicer when the dealer puts the button for the aftermarket heaters (none mopar usually) on the side of the seat near the rest of the adjustment controls.

True, aftermarket can still look fine, though I personally love that my OEM heated seats turn on automatically when I auto-start the vehicle (South Dakota winters can be fairly brutal). It's possible aftermarket ones can be integrated to do this, or if there's physical switches you just leave them in the "on" state all the time so when the vehicle starts they start, but the convenience of the OEM integration is perfect for me.

Some of the aftermarket kits for heated seats are top notch. I would not worry too much about it if they are versed in such things. They probably have a third party shop that will deal with it for them.

When we (wife and I) got ours (2023 Wrangler and 23 Gladiator respectively) we negotiated things. One being heated seats for both. We didn’t specify oem….oops. So about a month later we dropped them off, they took them to an aftermarket place. Switches are low, off, high and placed forward of the gear shift in that recess area that has zero function for storage. Works great! When it’s cold, I leave the switch on for auto start. I’ve had the top and doors off lots of time and yes I’ve been flooded out lots. Everything still works.
2 things I did change about their set up was

1: the switches were not waterproof so I changed them.
2: my ocd kicked in and the wires that came from the pads in the seat to under the console to the switches were out in the open. I put looming on them and put them under the carpet.

I had Mopar leather and heated/ vented added to my Wrangler. All of it was from Katzkin and I would highly recommend it. Switches were back on each side of the center console. Used the ventilated feature all the time in Austin. Heat was great, especially when we saw -28 in Colorado.

I went OEM with mine as I like the fit and finish. One of my main concerns with an aftermarket install would be the warranty. What if any warranty are they providing on parts and workmanship?

And of course the OP never came back to tell us how his upgrade went.

I special ordered mine without the cold weather package because with my other option packages the only thing it added was the heated seats and steering wheel. I figured with the remote start I really didn't need those in the winter, even here in NH.
And I didn't.
However, I do a lot of driving (30K+ miles per year on the Gladiator) and I've come to realize that heat would probably feel good even in the summer on my old body. Seriously thinking of adding it at least to the driver's seat. Still need to research that.

You are 100% on target. That heat is used year round just for my back. There are days I go for a drive just to loosen up my back LOL. I'm worried I'm going to burn out my heating elements, I use it that much. I'm planning on adding it to the back seats for the kids as well.
