Might be a stupid question, but is this a problem only with the Ruby's (I have a sport)? I upgraded to Yeti XD draglink, tierod and track bar from steer smarts when I installed my Rock Krawler PRO-X 3" lift with 37" Milestars. My Jeep runs straight and true, super smooth with tight steering. No wobble, slack or slugishness in the steering. I have a six speed...so sixth gear is pretty much useless unless I am on a very flat road. Re-gearing will be happening very soon. But at 75mph in 5th/6th gear, I stay around 1800-2000 rpms.

I had trouble with steering with the mopar lift. It was as if the jeep was steering into the ground, and as if i was driving on a steeply crowned road all the time. For me this was a caster issue. We added adjustable LCA’s, track bar, and sector shaft brace and we got the jeep performing much better.

i have since moved on to the clayton 3.5 inch kit and have a much better overall ride and performance.

echo comments on 4.88’s, though I totally understand the reservations about cost.

I'm getting the steering gear TSB done tomorrow, hoping that will get me close enough to where I want to be. If not, I'll be looking into adding some upgraded suspension and geometry components.

Got the steering gear update done last week and so far it seems to have helped a lot. There is a lot less of the "tension to no tension" transition when the wheel is centered. So a lot less correction, though it still pushes and pulls a little from imperfections in the road. Apparently the original owner (I purchased it with 2k miles on it) had already added aftermarket steering braces which I didnt realize. Jeep reinstalled them with the new steering gear, so who knows how much that helps or hurts with the update.

On a side, seems like no one has the "software" to properly align the truck. Had it at two separate stores who told me they were waiting on an update to be able to align properly.

They don’t have a tape measure? That’s all you really need if you don’t have adjustable control arms. There’s nothing to do but set the toe and steering center. The toe should not have changed, and they should have recentered after the steering box TSB.
