I got the rubicon since I liked how it looked & the options it had in case I ever sold it then it would be more desirable. I did lift it for 37” tires & put on power steps etc… I’m also a wildlife photographer & do some light treks on weekends not really off-roading. I did consider the overland first since it’s more geared toward ride & luxury but I wanted tough & rugged.Okay, two ways I might go here.
One is to get a Rubicon or Mojave and leave it largely stock, for daily driving and light offroading.
The other is to save a few thousand, buy a Sport S with some options that I want, have the dealer install the Mopar 2 inch lift on it, put some decent sized tires on it straight away. I figure with that approach, I might save $5-$10,000. But obviously, would have no lockers.
Any thoughts?

For that price, you could've purchased a Tazer and had more features after resizing your tires. The ability to straight away throw 35s on it with no lift and no regearing and dealer calibrated the speedometer and transmission shift points for $200.00 software download.
Welcome! Very sweet looking Mojave. Silver Zynith was my first choice but wasn't yet available in February when I ordered mine.I just recently purchased a Mojave in September. I was not planning on buying a vehicle the day I went to "look around". I was aware of some details of the Rubicon and the Mojave but I was test driving vehicles for what I might want in the future not for that day. Daily ride quality was on the list for whatever was decided. Try not to be too "judgy" when I tell you I traded in a BMW X5 MSport 50i that I drove daily for 5 years and loved. But, I felt a change was needed not because of the SUV I had but myself personally. I chose the Mojave because of ride, gearing, comfort and how it fit in with my activities. The frame itself is substantially stronger built and probably overkill for most Mojave owners but it's nice to know it's built to handle more than you'll ever throw at it. The ability to straight away throw 35s on it with no lift and no regearing and dealer calibrated the speedometer and transmission shift points for $200.00 software download. Done and go. I would not disagree with any of the posts here because I understand the reasons they feel like they do. It's the first Jeep product I've owned and so far I'm happy with everything. Good luck with your decision!![]()

You're right. I travel a lot (flying) and just wanted it done. Maybe patience would have paid off in this instance. For that price, you could've purchased a Tazer and had more features after resizing your tires.
Thank you! I realized it's a whitish silver tone and the Billet Silver had a blackish tone to it and wasn't sure if I'd like it at first. It's tricky getting it right in pictures to look as good as it actually is. White was a consideration and the Hydro Blue is a very attractive hue (I like most all of the colors actually). Choosing wheels was almost a month long torture of sorts but I'm happy with the final choice. Driving to the dealership to make a service appointment with the factory wheels and tires still in the bed resulted in another customer flagging me down and buying them a few hours later for $1,100.00 cash. So I didn't want to distract from this thread but my experience is fresh and maybe somehow helpful...or not...lolWelcome! Very sweet looking Mojave. ?I have a small unit, so I got the Rubicon.
That's why we all buy the Rubicon isn't it??
Not sure how this important reason to get a Rubicon slipped by unnoticed...
I second this. I have the Overland, and it rode like shit. I started adding parts like Mojave coils, fox 2.0s, fox steering stabilizer, and 35s. The ride quality is solid now, but this cost me $$$ all that and no AUX switch bank, lockers, or other better options. I personally wish I had gotten the Rubicon or MojaveMy (biased) opinion is to just get a Mojave and call it done. For a daily driver, the Mojave rides super nice and the Mojave-specific seats & steering wheel are very comfy. It also has just a touch of 'lift' from the factory, which gives it a more Jeep-ish look without having to install a lift. IMO, if it is going to be your DD, don't mess around with installing anything that will give the dealership any opportunity to dispute a warranty issue.
