I'm on the recall list and I just rolled past 5K miles.... Continuing to drive while waiting for the parts to become available...

You will know there's a problem long before the driveshaft hits the ground...

You will hear it and absolutely feel a vibration...

I've had many carrier bearings go out on me and it was pretty easy to know I had a problem...

Update....the dealerships service manager called me back and told me that they got an internal list that showed they sold (2) Gladiators with the V95 Recall and luckily mine was not one of them. Service Manager also ran my Vin everywhere he could and nothing came back with a recall. That's the best he can do now and unless they add my Vin from now until Oct. 18th I should be in the clear with the Recall. Based on the comments by the owners above who got contacted directly or had it show up on the VIN search I honestly think FCA does already know every Gladiator that has the V95 issue and has notified them and/or put the recall on the VIN search. At this point based on everything I learned on here and from talking to the dealer service manager I feel pretty confident mine does not have the recall and I am going ahead with my trip using my Gladiator and saving the $250 car rental fee. Thanks everyone who replied and gave me some added info or advice and if I do end on the recall list I will let you know. For those Gladiator owners on the list who posted I hope they fix ASAP when its released and that you have no issue until it is done. Big thanks to Gladiator Forum for running such a helpful site.

THanks ColoradoGlad for the added info ...Good to know there would be some warning signs before a failure, I only have 1,300 miles almost all city/low speed but I will have over 3,000 miles (1,700 highway speed ) by the time I get back form the long trip. Sorry to hear yours is causing so many issue for you and that you have to wait to get it fixed. Best of luck to you on a quick resolution.

I am is the same boat as all of you. I don't have a problem getting a rental, my only question is...would Jeep foot the bill since they are the ones saying the Gladiator is unsafe to drive.
There is still millions of people driving recalled vehicles waiting on replacement air bags for defective ones that have the potential for shrapnel that can kill. They are not getting loaners or compensated for alternate transportation while they wait. I doubt there will be any compensation for Gladiator owners for this recall.

They either have to give you a loaner or rent you a car if you can't drive it. If you put your VIN in and it didn't show up, you're most likely not part of the recall. Like I said, mine is part of the recall and I called the dealer and they definitely didn't say to not drive it. If anything goes wrong, it's up to them to fix it, so I'm not worried.

If any of you had a driveshaft with no grease, I don’t think you’d get to s thousand miles before you had an issue. The joints would make a loud sneaky sound if they were dry and you’d get a nasty vibration before you dropped a shaft.

Regarding death and dismemberment from dropping a driveshaft—- I guess it could happen if you lost the front yoke and the shaft catapulted through the floor but if you loose the rear u joint it may just fall out!

Has anyone actually experienced any symptoms associated with the driveshaft recall? Supposedly only 5% of vehicles, so I wouldn't expect a lot have experienced any issues, but I would expect they would show up here. Forums tend to magnify issues often, but I don't recall seeing anyone complaining of issues?

Took mine in for the first oil change yesterday (1rst of 4 free from Jeep wave!) and asked them to check mine out. Although my manufacture date appeared to be in scope, the website said my VIN was clean and the dealer confirmed that I "got lucky" and mine wasn't included in the recall.

Actually... I had a Honda that was part of the Takata airbag recall and Honda offered to pay for a rental until the parts were available. I took them up on it and they paid for a rental for over a month until my Honda was repaired.

I just got back from the dealer. My Gladiator is under the recall. I called to make an appointment Wednesday. Service writer said they had to order the part, put me on hold and called parts to order, then said the part will be in Thursday and schedule anytime thereafter. I made an appointment for Friday. After waiting in line and checking in my vehicle they tell me parts are not available and they can only order one every 7 days (really one every seven days, that's ridiculous) and FCA would not authorize a loaner. I would have thought a phone call when they knew they weren't getting the part but no.

I came home and called customer care that told me if I wasn't happy with that dealer to try another. They have a NO Sale and are not fixing customer vehicles first and apparently don't care. I had bad experiences with Chrysler years ago but I loved the Gladiator so much I thought I would try again. Apparently a big mistake. Rant off....

Hi cwieland, we can escalate a case to a recall specialist and get this resolved for you. Please send us a private message with your VIN and dealership to get started.
