So, uh, what keeps that board from bouncing up and out when you hit the woops?

What brand jack is that? Just curious.

I mean it's pretty heavy and fairly well fit in place so gravity does the trick.

Probably won't hold up a jump but havent had issues yet.

So related question. Today as I was driving I noticed a good deal of shake on the jack while driving. I removed the stand and the spreader to save some weight. Noticed several wing nuts were a little loose even on my traction boards. I added one more 1/2 carriage bolt for extra hold, but what does everyone here due to keep everything buttoned down? Some say loctite and others have said to double up the wing nuts where possible. I’m leaning towards option two, unless anyone has a better suggestion.

Alright, that's 1 out of 39 posts. Anyone else actually use their Hi-Lift Jack in the last 10 years?

yes, I used it to jack up part of my house while doing a bathroom remodel to replace a block in the foundation

Step 1: Remove Hi-Lift Jack from Jeep
Step 2: Put it in the garage until needed for stump removal and other farm chores

Stop taking Hi-Lift Jacks for drives - they see other Hi-Lift Jacks and it makes them sad

The one time I get stuck in two feet of snow and need it it won’t be there. Plus it is much more sad to keep it locked up in the house. It just wants to feel the air in its holes.

I've had a couple of different configurations over the last year but landed on the Hi-Lift Gladiator Bed Mount with the Dominion Offroad axe/shovel bracket. I have the Hi-Lift mounted 'upside down' on the mount but it works great if you remove the rubber handle keeper and just use the velcro strap to keep the handle from moving.

It's not the cheapest solution out there but it's been rock-solid with no rattles and everything is easy to get to and it seems like the best use of that space especially with the Bedslide.

I'd like to see posts about Hi-Lift Jacks actually being used on Gladiators ???

Came in handy with the Hi-Lift wheel adapter to get logs under my tires when I was stuck in the snow.

BAD idea. That’s about 35 lbs of airborne mayhem in the right situation. A big enough bump and it’s raising hell, in an accident it’s going through the back window on its way to somebody’s cranium.

If that lumber is just stuffed in the bed channel - friction fit - it’s not enough to secure even a knock off HiLift.

I’d rethink that mount and use some BOLTS.

It honestly can't come out on its own... It might go up a couple inches but don't see it come out completely on its own as the 4x8 needs to be put sideways to be able to come out... I have a hardtop cover above as well.

I will likely go a more permanent route down the road but figured that for now it should be ok when wheeling.

When my JT got turtled on a rock going UP was the only option as the rock was jammed in the cavity next to the rear driveshaft. I had to wait for over an hour until someone passed by with a Hi-Lift. Definitely my next Jeep purchase!

Oh, and I’ll be getting the JT bed mount.

That’s a tough spot for a rock. Ouch !! I carry mine side mounted to Voodoo cross bars. However I am likely going to switch to hood mount as the hi lift has hit trees at times. I hope I’ll never need it but that being said we had to use one just yesterday as someone popped a front spring that got wedged - a little over flexed I guess ha ha. hi lift was the only way to get the front high enough to reset the spring.

That looks great, considering it as an option, but it looks like it blocks the 2x8 slot. Does it? I know it doesn't matter to you with your bed slide but I use mine.
