So sad these problems just go on and on !! Jeep and Stellantis would rather lower prices alittle to pick up sales market. Maybe if they fixed their problems that would do more good With sales ? I love my Jeep but the problems you see on this site is really depressing. I bought local for this reason. I praise God I haven’t had any real problems !!

when I test drove my Jeep I told dealer I wanted to sleep on it. Salesman called next day and said ??? I said I don’t think so With corrosion problems. He said they don’t see them in western Colorado ??

That's why I try to never get mine wet. They were designed and built in a dry building.

Check your inbox.
Ford and Chevy are having the same paint issues. It's not "a Jeep thing".
Yup. Previous Ford Expedition had the liftgate bubbling. About the size of a Susan B. Anthony.

While getting my transmission replaced (I know, right?), I brought up the bubbling paint issue to the service advisor and he did a walk around the truck. I'll be getting a new hood and 4 doors / hinges after winter. ?

Anyone getting a loaner or reimbursed for a rental? I made my appointment today and was told they would have mine for 2 plus weeks, body shop told me to call the dealer service department to schedule a loaner. Service department says Jeep isn't covering a loaner for paint issues, they gave me a customer care number. I called the number and got the runaround to the point where I got pissed and hung up. I sent a DM to JeepCares, so I'll see where it goes. My wife's JLU has paint issues too and I'm going to be pissed if they don't offer a loaer or reimbursement.
Loaners have never been a guaranteed thing and it is always a case by case basis if your local dealer supports a loaner, but it is not a right you get a loaner for any service you leave your vehicle for. The one caveat is the Jeep Wave program has a rental reimbursement but only for same day service of a vehicle and not multiple days.

I've owned a lot of different vehicles in my life and this is the first time I've ever been denied a loaner on a warranty repair. If it were a day or 2 repair I wouldn't have an issue, but I was told they needed the truck for at least 2 weeks. I'm reading horror stories about customers being without a vehicle for 2 months or more. I asked the service advisor if I had a blown engine would I get a loaner and she said yes, but for some reason Jeep refuses to give loaners for warranty paint repair which is BS.

And prior to getting our most recent Jeeps - we'd never gotten a loaner for such repairs. Ford dealer was 45 minutes away - tough, arrange a ride back home. Chevy - get a ride back home.
There's nothing in writing about any loaner obligation.

I hate to ask, but..............
Is this part of the new entitlement era?

Seriously, I've never seen such talk over or demands for loaners. There's people waiting on parts for weeks - some places have dozens of vehicle waiting - it's not possible to give a loaner to every person who brings a vehicle in and has to wait.

It was different when my parents had one decent car and Dad had to commute - there were no loaners, he had to make other arrangements

I do not doubt anything you said, but it has been like that for at least since Chrysler came out of bankruptcy in 2008-2009 if not before that they do not have a corporate policy to mandate loaners. It is on the individual franchise dealership if they want to offer the service. This issue comes up quite often and seems to catch a majority of people off guard. They do not care if you leave the brand over the issue as it seems to be neutral offset of different people coming in to replace those that leave.

It is what it is.

It looks like I am ready to get my jeep painted again...

I had the hood and 4 doors/hinges painted last year under warranty. the paint didn't match, so they painted the whole jeep except for the bed.

I saw a bit of paint bubbling on the hood and one of the hinges getting a small bubble so i took it back to the dealership and low and behold, paint is starting to bubble in the interior seam on all 4 doors and hood. he reccomended letting it fester another month or so and then get schduled for body work in the fall. I need my truck in the summer to pull my camper, so this timing actually works well.

Well side note on loaner vehicle, my first time getting a "loaner" was from Jeep dealership in Germany. There was more to it actually the dealership owner liked my Comanche to the point of trying to buy it from me. Hindsight I should have sold it especially with the amount offered, it didn’t hurt that there was only about 12 Comanche's in Germany then. One of my loaner vehicle choices was something I knew not to choose, not my color though..... a expensive red sports car worth much more. Plus, I didn't want something bad to happen with it or explaining how I had it. When I would go pick it up my Comanche it would be washed, waxed and detailed parked in front of dealership for advertising Jeeps. BTW the Dodge Viper was really fast on Autobahn.
Oh dadamn I forgot what this thread was about thinking about that.

Well count me in.....just noticed this happening on the leading edge of my 21 sport s hood. Think I may wait until fall or early next winter to take it in when we have less going on.

I'm in the same boat. My hydro 21 overland just started bubbling on the front edge. I'm curious how this will play out, since I have factory hood flag graphics. Will they replace that as well since that was a $245 "option"?

Making note of all the corrosion threads for future if I keep the jeep long enough. You’d think they’d have a fix for this. Lots of cars use aluminum panels.

There's too many of such threads..........
I wonder, and I've not gone out to see lately, are Ford and GM still having these same issues? For a long time all you had to do was type in the words "ford hood corrosion" or "ford paint bubbling" and you'd get pages of results. Replace the "Ford" with GM or Chevrolet and you'd get the same results.
IS that still true? Is it still an industry-wide issue - or have the others figured it out?
Yeah, I'm asking if someone knows.

The post above yours with the tailgate - I saw that and thought - you've got to be kidding - tailgate, too???
