I was running off my memory and I was wrong. I was using 1/2 oz not a full 1 oz when filling up. I had to double check the bottle this morning and see what line I was using when dosing it.
I used the performance dose for a long time but was told by several diesel mechanics that it was really not necessary. I was using 2oz every fill up... but I mixed it with LX4... SO 2oz of each.... after I got the recall done, I use the premium dose of 1oz... so now 1oz of EDT and 1oz of LX4...
I've never noticed any degrade in milage, but haven't really tested either... I do see a difference between summer/winter blends though.

Even 1/2oz when filling, if filling from a half tank as you stated, is too much, and running too high of concentration can cause your DPF and SCR filters to clog up faster. If your DPF is getting clogged, you're truck is going through regen more frequently which burns more fuel. I would try lowering your dosage and see if you notice anything. Might take a few tanks and a regen or two to really get an idea though.

Mixing Ratio: 1 oz per 25 gallons (0.04 oz per gallon)

1 Gallon = 0.04 oz
2 Gallons = 0.08 oz
3 Gallons = 0.12 oz
4 Gallons = 0.16 oz
5 Gallons = 0.20 oz
6 Gallons = 0.24 oz
7 Gallons = 0.28 oz
8 Gallons = 0.32 oz
9 Gallons = 0.36 oz
10 Gallons = 0.40 oz
11 Gallons = 0.44 oz
12 Gallons = 0.48 oz
13 Gallons = 0.52 oz
14 Gallons = 0.56 oz
15 Gallons = 0.60 oz
16 Gallons = 0.64 oz
17 Gallons = 0.68 oz
18 Gallons = 0.72 oz
Well I have to make a run from Here in Tacoma, Washington to Los Angles, California here in a couple of weeks. I will not add anything on my trip down to give it time to really burn out everything and then on my way back I will try it with your dosages you provided. That should give me a good test. If it drops back down I will switch back to Archoil and start using that one again as I didn't have any issue with it. Or maybe I just got a bad bottle of hotshots but who knows.

Holy shit you people kill me there's always something more to worry about!

I just squirt it up to the mark on the bottle and toss it in usually at just under a half tank fill ups.
I have never looked at the instructions or math'ed anything. I don't regen very often but she also doesn't knock much.

Now I gots to go do some math.

No need to break out the chemistry beakers or anything, it was just to show how the dosage breaks down. A lot of folks use an ounce for around 12 gallon fill ups because thats where the line is without knowing how much they are actually should to be using.

I used to do a full ounce when filling up from a 1/4 tank, but I kept seeing higher DPF levels around home and ran into forced regens while out in Colorado. Now I usually try to keep it around 1/2 oz if I'm filling up from roughly a 1/4 tank, which is still a little too much for a premium dose. Theres already some mixed into the couple gallons of fuel already in the tank. Now my DPF levels stay around 30% on the regular around home and I never need a regen. Only time I ever see a regen now is if I'm doing multiple hours on the freeway. One regen during my 2200 mile trip to Wyoming and back.

I see better fuel economy with Opti-Lube than EDT. I use a fuel additive mostly for its lubricity but also to keep the fuel injectors clean. Opti-Lube has tested #1 for lubricity for a few decades, so that's what I use as my daily fuel additive. Opti-lube requires a lot more product compared to Hot Shot's EDT. Diesel Extreme (by Hot Shot's Secret) is an excellent cleaner, and many people have seen incredible results after using Diesel Extreme, which I recommend everyone use once per year. But for everyday use, I would recommend Opti-Lube.

My thought is if they are using 1oz/10gal, then their filter is probably getting clogged more often and they're in regen a lot.
My mileage dropped and my regens increased when I switched from Hot Shots to Opti-Lube. I was dosing the same amount. 3/4 Oz per 10 gallon. Going to try a couple of tanks without adding anything to see if it makes a difference. If it does. I'm going to dose at 1/2 Oz per 10 gallon.

Ive used the performance dose since my jeep was new and even added it at 1/4 tank etc.

You need to get a banks idash and look at DPF SL and see what your percentage is. If its over 25% go out on the highway put it in 8th 1/2 throttle about 75-80 mph up some mild hills and get some load on it. It should passive regen and drop slowly even with your foot in it. If it does not I would bet you have a boost leak or your dpf is failing and unable to passive burn the soot off.

I hope its not the DPF since it was just replaced along with the O2 and crankshaft position sensor from the dealer trying to play the what is causing my check engine light game. They ended up saying it was a bad air filter that was letting to much air get by it but I don't trust them.

But I will give it a passive regen this weekend and see how things turn out. I do plan on doing a nonstop run from Tacoma to Los Angels in three weeks with only stops to fill it up. That should really give it a chance to burn everything out running that long and hot. But a idash is on my list of things to get so I can monitor everything.
