How about a turbo?
I would say pretty much the same thing as for supercharging. Whether done with a supercharger or a turbocharger, boost has the same effect on the engine. I will say that turbocharging is more efficient than a belt driven supercharger, since it uses what is actually wasted energy to drive it. If I had to choose one or the other, though, I would use a supercharger just for (relative) ease of installation. Also, the supercharger builds boost immediately as opposed to the boost curve of the turbocharger.

IF it does come (and that's a big if) it will be a diesel replacement. And just like the diesel it won't be available in manual, so I don't care.

I want it badly for the rest of you who want it. Enjoy your trucks and enjoy them more when they are faster. But no 3rd pedal equals no fun for this guy.

Now if a non boosted straight6 3.0 wants to make its way into the gladiator as a 3.6 replacement with more low down torque and a manual, we can talk. But that's about as likely as me getting the 5.7 manual I really wanted I'd imagine.
+1 to all that

You guys do realize that this motor will replace the 5.7 and the 3.6 for the most part. 3.6 being over 3.0 liters is a motor that is taxed heavily in Europe so it needs to go. It make very big financial sense. At some point it will trickle into almost every ICE vehicle.

Hmm, I thought that applied to diesel engines - as there's nothing over 3.0 liter over there in diesels.
Their methods of taxing HP have morphed and changed over the years.

Here's Germany's current law best I can tell -

Under current law, owners of a vehicle pay €2.00 per 100 cm3 engine displacement in the case of a gasoline engine and €9.50 if the car has a diesel engine.

Almost 5 times as much for diesel. 3.0 seems to be the limit that all auto makers have been doing.

Go ahead and build your "end of times" fallout shelter. Just to be on the safe side. Just tell everyone that it's really a wine cellar.

100cm3 is 1000cc or 1 liter. So a 3L motor would be 6 euro's or $6.68 USD.

3L diesel would be 28.5 euro or $31.71 USD. The part I"m not sure on. Is that 9.5 euro per Liter, or for just having a diesel regardless of size?

I read an article a ways back about Ford, I THINK it was, and the reason they limited their diesel size was due to some tax or rule the EU had.
Another article said the diesel was falling out of favor over there. Odd, IMO.

For a long time in Europe. Diesel was a lot cheaper than gasoline. Now it's the same price if not higher in some countries.

Yeah, they got some strange laws over there. Taxes are another thing. VAT (Value Added Tax) instead of a sales tax.

With the complete failure of natural intelligence, I’m not inclined to trust the artificial variant. ?

Especially when the artificial version bases its answers on those given by the organics.
