Technically "I am an idiot" would be grammatically correct. :like:

Whoops, just saw the other post stating that, too. Either way, still relevant to repeat.

Not sure if you are willing to buy from an out of state dealer, but there are a few dealers in the Virginia/ Maryland area selling gladiators from $31g for base sports and $35 for Sport S models.
Here is a link to a dealer in Virginia that seems to be close to the range you are asking for https://www.koonsjeep.com/new-inventory/index.htm?model=Gladiator&sortBy=internetPrice asc
Last week they quoted me $33,800 for a Sport S with an automatic transmission.
I am kinda in the same boat as you, however, the more I thought about it, the more I realized I am definitely willing to pay an extra 1 or 2 grand more for electric windows, remote locks, and auto headlights.

I did months of homework before I bought mine. Similar to what @Ian8 said, there are some good deals to be found. Plus, someone else brought up actually telling a dealer what you want and what you have to spare for it (ultimately, I went back to the first place I spoke to and told them all of the other deals I had to leverage a better deal). Honestly, though, you'll have to be willing to spend months doing this.

PLUS! Keep in mind that with those very low costs come some missing quality control. I did not find out until after I signed on the dotted line that the advertised window sticker was inaccurate. The dealer had an updated, corrected one inside the truck, but it was never uploaded to the internet (and that's what I was basing my negotiations on). At the end of the day, I thought I was getting a bedliner in the price when, alas!, there was none. It hasn't been a problem, and I walked away with a good deal regardless, but it hits my ego a little for missing that. Definitely do you own thorough examination.

Just finished purchasing a 51,945 overland for 43,650. It was very hard to find a 6mt with the options I wanted on the east coast. Got it from Colorado. Awesome dealership to deal with.

Is $32k your limit for the vehicle knowing you will be adding tax, registration, some dealer fees, and the like? Or $32k out the door? That's impossible. But starting with a $32k base vehicle is possible, just realize a lot of dealers show a great price and then tack on $999 doc fee, sell you a $700 alarm add-on, $500 glass protection, and other complete horseshit. Ask them to give you an out the door quote.

You are at about $2K-$3k delta of getting in the club. Sell some plasma,
Here in Ohio, they are offering 7k for plasma antibodies. A coworkers dad caught covid19 and as he was recovering, he got the call from the hospital with the offer.
I have been licking every door handle in public since I heard this. No luck yet.

The dealership I bought mine has a hardtop, automatic, tow, mats, block heater, trak lok out the door for 36. You're close but expect nothing but an automatic. Without the other options that one would have been 33.5 or so. Registration is $200 and we don't have sales tax so that's what you'd pay OTD basically 34k for nothing but an auto OTD.

Since 1975 I've owned Jeeps get used to the high price and tactical ability or go to another Club LOL my 1975 CJ5 was $4,900 5300 out the door. Maybe I should have got two of them but the Ruby has all you need and then some get drunk get lost and find yourself home on the trails. Come out west and do some rock crawling soon. Have fun we are not here forever. Wisdom comes with age. We need to get Tactical the world's coming to a very difficult time. No no wine wine wine. Accept what comes out of the bottle and I'll give you a cheese to enjoy it more.
