It is not about breaking the franchise model, it is about stopping the dealership excessive markups.Until Ford goes 100% EV, they are not going to be breaking the state dealership franchise model anytime soon.

Would never pay full MSRP for a vehicle let alone any markups!
Personally, I don't think "the market" has anything to do with it. In my experience dealers have ALWAYS marked up hot selling cars whatever they thought they could get for them. I call it, "Because we can" money. SOMEONE will want the newest, hottest thing on the market and WILL pay it. It's skimming the cream off the top. That is...a truly unfortunate manifestation of a screwed-up market.
Yep. If you listen to YAA videos on YouTube they will tell you a sucker isborn every minute. They make this big money in the Finance department. If it’s taxable, it’s negotiable.I recently purchased from a dealer who mentioned they often get their "markup" in the form of addendums, or dealer add-ons that they add a lot of margin to. That way they aren't seen as marking up the MSRP, but it works out the same. Uninformed buyers just getting hosed.
Yep… but unfortunately the people who will pay this amount- ruin the market for everyone else who know and are willing to pay a fair price. Not really your problem is it? If someone wants to pay it and has the money to do so thats between them and the seller.
Is it asinine? Yes but not my problem either.
And people say aftermarket accessories won’t change the price ?? ??So I went to my local dealership to set a date for the lift install and as I was walking out I noticed a lifted 2022 JTR. I checked it out so see how mine will eventually look and a large number caught my eye. I looked at the pricing sheet and my eyes widened. MSRP for the JTR alone was 61,000.... that's about normal, but then when I looked at how much the dealer mark up is for a MOPAR lift, ok-ish 37's and in my opinion some ugly wheels blew my mind. It kind of makes my blood boil knowing someone is going to buy this.

The price stated is about 9k too high but it does start to add up quickly when you’d add a lift & gearing for 37s. If they replaced the Axels with Dana 60s or 80s For 40” or bigger tires, Then that would be a decent deal.So I went to my local dealership to set a date for the lift install and as I was walking out I noticed a lifted 2022 JTR. I am sure it is probably additional aftermarket tint to make it darker.Window tint is standard on everything above the base Sport. How are they getting away with charging someone for something it already comes with?
